This one has been abit of a long term build. 1/32 Westland Lynx Mk.88, using Eduard Model Accessories Big Ed detail set, full interior detail aswell so will be displayed with all doors open.
Next up Decals, then the detail painting can start

Latest build away from the bench.

Requested build for the other halves Dad of his MK1 Es**rt Grasstrack car he raced in the 80’s.

Had 3 photos to work from take during the 80’s so as you can see imagine weren’t the best quality but i did what i could.
Also a first for me was producing my own masks to paint the numbers and car club lettering using a Cricut Explorer 4.

Base kit was the Belkits Ford Es**rt RS1600 MK1. Majority of the glazing and exterior parts weren’t used, and there was a number of bits that needed to be made.

Finished in Ford Signal Orange, and the mounted in a display case.

Hearing the news yesterday of Craig Breens passing as a rally fan has shocked the world.
Having seen Craig drive several times at rallies, and listening to his brilliant end of stage interviews, his infectious enthusiasm for all things rallying was impossible not to love.
One of the very few gentlemen of the sport and most underrated and undervalued driver in recent years.
Finally reunited with his good friend Jaffa im sure they will be going full chat in the stages above.
just a small tribute to Craig………and as he used to say Flat to the Square right……….

Been busy working in the chassis.

Got most of the parts painted and weathered.

Colours have come from reference photos and are as close to the real thing as i can get them.

And there we have it.

4 suspension units, cut, modified and rebuilt.

One is slightly shorter than the others but that can be sorted once its on the chassis.

Next job is get paint on the first lot of chassis parts and start sticking plastic together

Managed to get some more done this evening.

I took one look at the kit suspension and thought it lacked detail and realism.

So i measured the diameter of the kit part and found that the springs from ball point pens were the same. So i stripped out 4 pens so had plenty of springs. Then found some rivets to make the strut.

First time i have ever done this and rebuilt suspension and im pretty pleased with the result. Now 3 more to complete

Made a start tonight and I decided to start with adding tyre valves from KMP - Scale Modeling to each of the 6 wheels that came with the kit.

Each valve is 2.5mm tall, and 3D printed in resin.
The print is flawless and needs no clean up at all. A small hole drilled into the wheel and a touch of superglue and they are fixed in place.

Only a small detail and probably wont even be noticed but each small detail all adds up to the final result

Next project and its a big one.

Fully detailed interior, resin helmets and hans devices.

Using various detail sets from , Small Great Details, KMP - Scale Modeling, Renaissance-Models detailing set and Top Studio electronics connectors.

This is going to be a long term project and i will photograph and video as i progress through this

Some new products to try have arrived from Small Great Details in Portugal. Excellent service and superfast delivery 5 days from overseas is pretty good. Its great to be able to get the harness hardware separately, these will be put to use on the next project along with more great detail work.
