I found my favourite knitting travel bag and it didn't cost the earth. OK, it isn't in beautifully soft leather but it is attractive and importantly very practical. It is a Lakeland shopping tote and cost about £16. The main part is roomy enough for a large project plus books, iPad loaded with patterns and a small phone bag. There are 6 pockets (bottle holders, I guess), but mine are being used for a set of chiagoos, Barber cords, a notions pouch, and a flute. A flute I hear you say? Yes, on the road, I like to mix knitting and flute practice, and the pockets all have a wipe clean lining so my flute can drain in the sixth empty pocket between sessions...ugh...too much info I know.
Also in the bag is my 3rd in and a pottery yarnbowl and my new copy of Knitting from the Top by Barbara Walker - researching for my next project.
