Pssst… we are having a Christmas Concert… and you’re all invited!!

With guest appearance wind band Split Notes we are excited to welcome you all to All Saints Church, Baschurch on the Tuesday 16th December at 7:30pm.

All proceeds go to Hope House.

Come along to enjoy some Christmas Carols.

Gibbons, Guest and Rutter will be the composers of the pieces, we will sing tomorrow at 5:30pm in St Peter and Paul Fitz, Shrewsbury, during their annual Remembrance Service. It's a Service always so thoughtfully put together - you are very welcome to join us. There is always an excellent buffet afterwards.

‘THE YEOMAN SINGERS ON TOUR’
Yesterday the choir and a few of our loyal supporters traveled by coach to Anglesey for a joint concert with Menai Bridge Band.
We had a wonderful day and the sun shon for us ☀️
Our first stop was Llanfairpwll for a spot of lunch and a group photo under the famous sign.
It was then back on the coach for the short drive to St Mary’s Church, Menai Bridge to meet the band and rehearse for the evening concert.
We had a wonderful welcome and the friends of the band put on a veritable feast for us before the concert.
It’s always a worry that no one will turn up on the evening to listen but the church was full😀
The Band started us off, lead by their conductor Dyfed Jones, their compelation of ‘James Bond Themes’ went down a storm.
We began our set with a Disney Medley with our own ‘Dick Van Dyke’ Tenor Steve Tomley singing the solo.
After two sets by both band and choir we joined together for the finale of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ (Les Miserables) ‘Hymn To The Fallen’ (Saving Private Ryan) and finally ‘The Circle of Life’ (Lion King) with our soloist Jason Davenhill starting us off in rousing style.
A very successful evening indeed and we are now looking forward to hosting the band in Shrewsbury next year…watch out for the concert details, this is one you won’t want to miss!

*Sheila Owen, Menai Bridge Band Secretary: she has done so much work in preparation for our visit, thank you so much Sheila.
*Menai Bridge Band and their Conductor Dyfed Jones: thank you for inviting us to sing at this joint concert, you all made us so welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed singing with you and now look forward to hosting you next year.
*Friends Of The Band: thank you for the delicious buffet and drinks, we realy appreciate all the work that went in to preparing the feast.
*St Mary’s Church: a beautiful venue to sing…thank you
*Motje Wolf, Yeoman’s Musical Director: we are so lucky to have you, you make us believe in ourselves and give us the confidence to put on a performance which the audience thoroughly enjoyed…thank you❤️
*Jason, Steve, Heather & Rosie: you’re solos were great👏👏
*The Yeoman Singers: it was an hour to arrange this trip for you and I do hope you all enjoyed yourselves, the audience certainly enjoyed our performance.
*The Audience: thank you so much for coming along to support the concert and for all your lovely feedback and comments.
*Paul, our wonderful coach driver: you are a huge credit to along Mynd Travel. Thank you for getting us there and back safely and for looking after us so well. (Can thoroughly recommend Long Mynd Travel).
*Holly:thank you for your help in getting people back to the bus.

Last but not least, a huge thank you must got to Tim Lee who stepped in last minute to accompany the choir….a real Super Star….thank you.

The Choir will be back at rehearsals on Tuesday evening. If you can sing and you’d like to join us come along for a no obligation taster session at Fitz Village Hall SY4 3AS 7.30-9pm with refreshments served from 7pm
