Exciting News from Shrewsbury’s Art Scene!

My Shrewsbury Magazine is thrilled to share that Swan Hill Studios, in collaboration with Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, will present Marks of Life, a solo exhibition by internationally recognised artist Witold Riedel, opening this Friday!

Running 20–30 March 2026, the exhibition brings together ceramics, drawings, and photography for an intimate exploration of memory, material, and place. Selected objects will also be on display at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, making this a truly unique experience across both venues.

Witold Riedel’s work resonates with landscape and material history — from his Silesian roots in Poland to the traces of industrial heritage in Shropshire. His pieces carry the marks of time, touch, and memory, offering quiet reflections on belonging and the enduring connection between people and the materials of the earth.

A Private View will take place on Friday 20 March at Swan Hill Studios (17 Swan Hill, Shrewsbury SY1 2LA) from 5pm to celebrate this special opening. The exhibition will then be open to the public 21–30 March. Swan Hill Studios is open Monday–Saturday, 10am–4pm, and Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery is open Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–4pm. Admission is free.

For more details about this exciting exhibition, visit the Swan Hill Studios website.
