It’s been really lovely to see so many people across Shrewsbury’s creative community finding their own ways to support the campaign to save perches.house ❤️

Earlier this month, around 90 people came through the doors at English Bridge Studios for an afternoon of creative workshops, raising £500 for the Perches House Restoration Fund.

Josephine Bradbury led lino printing, Harvey Taylor ran gel printing, Zoe from Designers and makers. hosted badge making and Caris Jackson led collage, with Karen Sillar, Pippa Price, George and others helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes.

And the fundraising continues. Kate Johnston and Annalin Owen from The Makery have brought together more than 100 tiny works of art for Town in a Tin, all created and donated by local artists and creatives celebrating Shrewsbury.

The exhibition is on the Viewing Deck at Shrewsbury Market Hall until Saturday 29 August, with each artwork available to buy for a minimum donation of £25 and all proceeds going directly to the Perches House Restoration Fund.

A huge thank you to everyone who has organised events, donated their time and skills, made artwork, volunteered, bought work, joined a workshop or simply helped spread the word. It’s been wonderful to see so much of Shrewsbury’s creative community getting behind Jess and her family.

If you’d like to support the fundraising but haven’t had the chance to take part, you can also donate directly through the Help Save the House that Rose Re-Built Crowdfunder ❤️

Who says you have to step inside a gallery to experience art?

For a number of years now, The Parade Shops Shrewsbury has proudly hosted the Community Exhibition as part of the Shrewsbury Arts Trail, turning an everyday space into somewhere people can pause, take a look around and discover work by artists from across the region and beyond.

If you’re passing through, take a few extra minutes to explore the exhibition in the stairwells and lower level. Once you’ve had a good look around, don’t forget to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. Your favourite could be someone else’s next discovery 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the private view of this year’s Shrewsbury Arts Trail exhibitions at 💜

It was such a lovely evening, wonderful to see the galleries so full of people chatting, sharing thoughts and showing real support for the artists involved.

Thank you to every artist who submitted work from across the country, and to our sponsors, volunteers and everyone who has helped bring the exhibitions together. These things take a lot of time and care behind the scenes, and we’re very grateful.

A special thank you as well to Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery for welcoming us back into their beautiful space. It means a lot to have the Arts Trail in such a special setting again this year.

The exhibitions open to the public from tomorrow and will run throughout July and August. There’s plenty to see and do across the town, including the Inspirational Exhibition, the Open Exhibition, artist led events, workshops, creative activities and work appearing in venues across Shrewsbury.

Please do come along, have a wander, vote for your favourite piece in the Open Exhibition and enjoy this year’s Arts Trail!

It’s now or next year.

Submissions for the Shrewsbury Arts Trail Open Exhibition close today at 6pm, so this is your final nudge to get your work in.

No need to overthink it. The Open Exhibition is all about giving artists the freedom to submit work that feels true to them, whether that’s painting, print, ceramics, sculpture, photography, textiles, digital art, mixed media or something in between.

Selected work will be shown as part of this year’s Shrewsbury Arts Trail, with pieces displayed at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery and The Parade Shops.

So, if there’s a piece sitting in your studio, your camera roll, your sketchbook, or the back of your mind, this is the moment.

Submissions close today at 6pm.
