Powering Decisions by Synthesizing Press, Social, Commercial & Consumer Data into Clear, Actionable Gaming Insights.

We Understand Data
It’s our passion, we’ve been collecting, processing, normalising and analysing it since 2004. Video game and movie companies from around the world come to us for our extensive global commercial, communications and consumer data. But also for our expertise in building reports and interpreting the trends, not to mention our exemplary customer service!

2017 saw the launch of Fusion, our pioneering analytics platform which offers an intuitive UI and provides seamlessly blended data-sets within fully customisable reports, giving you the competitive edge in minutes. Our in-house development team, based in Blackpool, allows us to continually improve our offering and provide our clients with bespoke solutions to their specific, unique problems. Being situated in the picturesque, historic village of Cookham, close to the river Thames gives our busy Head Office a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere, whilst still being within easy reach of all the hustle and bustle of London. Fancensus is built on a super-gifted team of people from diverse backgrounds.

It's been sometimes since we posted but we are back. Let's kick things of our VP of Insights, David Sidebottom, taking the stage at Oracle’s partner seminar! It was inspiring watching David share how we’ve harnessed Oracle’s Heatwave cloud service to supercharge our report loading speeds and optimise our database efficiency.

His passion for innovation and commitment to excellence truly shone through. Big thanks to Oracle for the platform and to David for representing us with such energy and expertise. Here’s to even more breakthroughs ahead!

🏆🥇Following on from yesterday's post, we're continuing with TGA insights, this time looking at social noise 72 hours from the start of the show and can see that The Witcher IV takes the top spot here too!
It's one of only 3 of the brand new game announcements that made enough social noise to make the top 10. The rest of the list is made up of games already playable and therefore content for image and video posts is more easily available. It really is an amazing performance from The Witcher IV, Elden Ring Nightreign and Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet considering the small volume of information and assets available for them!

Which games featured in the Game Awards are you talking about the most?

🏆 The Witcher IV totally dominating the press in the first 72 hours from the start of The Game Awards 2024!

🧝‍♀️ There's a lot of focus on Ciri, with discussion around her being a Witcher, what she looks like and how people feel about her being the main playable protagonist. 3rd placed, Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog has also generated a wealth of online discussion about the gender and look of the female character who appears to be the lead. We really don't know very much about the story or gameplay of these two titles yet, will their main characters continue to drive press coverage and social chatter? It will be interesting following these stories and discussions through to release!

What a show it was this year, Geoff Keighley definitely outdid himself for the 10th anniversary of the awards. What a treat to see so many old franchises making a return and plenty of new ones to keep us all interested and excited for the coming months and years. There was a little bit of everything for everyone.

💫5 of this top 10 were brand new, surprise announcements which one gave you the most goosebumps?

2024 in general has been a slightly sombre affair with far too many layoffs and studio closures, but so many big reveals and genuine excitement ends the year on a high and hopefully gives everyone in the industry more positivity going into 2025.
