🚂 ANNIVERSARY JOURNEY: SHILDON 🚂

The countdown is on! Tomorrow morning witness history come to life as the replica Locomotion No.1 and passenger carriage ‘Experiment’ departs Locomotion in Shildon to commemorate 200 years since the first passenger rail journey.

Already booked? Don't forget to arrive from 9.00 and be in the viewing area by 10.30 to witness the Locomotive’s departure!

Those without Locomotion viewing tickets will be able to view the procession at Preston Road, Newton Aycliffe at 12:20–12:25. This location is perfect for local residents, and we recommend you walk to this location as there is limited parking.

Carrying on the celebrations, on Saturday 27 September The Anniversary Picnic will welcome visitors to Hackworth Park, Shildon for a day of community, celebration, and railway-themed fun. This family-friendly event is open to all with live local bands and other activities, including the highly anticipated STEAM performances by Southpaw Dance Company - bring a blanket, pack your picnic, and enjoy the festivities!

We had a brilliant mini choir show at the TCR hub on Saturday as part of the Durham Festival of Wellbeing
