What is repertory theatre - and why does it matter?
Repertory (or “rep”) theatre is a unique and fast-paced form of theatre, where a company of actors performs a rotation of different plays across a season 🎟
Instead of rehearsing one show for weeks and running it for months, rep actors are constantly learning, rehearsing, and performing multiple productions at once - sometimes rehearsing one by day and performing another by night.
It’s a tradition that has trained generations of actors, building versatility, resilience, and a true sense of ensemble 🎭
At Sheringham Little Theatre, we’re proud to be keeping this tradition alive as one of the UK’s last rural rep outposts. We are now celebrating 66 years of Summer Rep.
