ROCK THE LOBSTER is a voluntary group which promotes all performing arts in the Sheringham and Cromer area, to give amateur performers a chance to demonstrate their talents and to give novices and children a go. Occasionally we have guest performers so if you'd like to be one, please contact us. We relied completely on the goodwill of landlord Graham Deans of The Lobster who provided our venue fre
e of charge when we started and the pub inspired our name.We hold our open mic at Sheringham Youth Hostel now, on Cremers Drift. We rely entirely on sponsorship, grants and donations to survive. Our main sponsors are Newbarn Ltd. www.newbarnltd.co.uk YHA www.yha.org.uk/UK Future Radio futureradio.co.uk and Drill Hall Recording Studio www.drillhallrecordingstudio.com and we have a bucket collection at our open mic to help keep afloat. Any money we raise goes to our running costs of advertising and maintaining our music equipment. Should we ever have excess money we intend to invest it in more equipment for Rock The Lobster or to donate to local needy causes in the Cromer and Sheringham area. Having said that we do this because we enjoy it and not as a commercial enterprise. We support Future Radio, Newbarn Ld. YHA UK, North Lodge Park Cromer, COAST Arts, Cromer Pier, Sheringham Carnival, Cromer Carnival, West Runton Social Club, Holt Festival Fringe and Drill Hall Recording Studio through advertising and running charity open mic roadshows. If you'd like to donate, be involved or organise a musical event please contact us.
