It's 'International Ada Lovelace Day'
if you're on your computer, well, you might not be, without her...
Here are a few tonetile render experiments I made a while back of Mrs Lovelace. Hope you enjoy
International Ada Lovelace Day (ALD) is an annual global celebration dedicated to recognizing the achievements and contributions of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It highlights the often-overlooked work of women in these fields, aiming to create role models that inspire more girls to pursue STEM careers and support women already in them. The day promotes gender diversity in STEM by sharing stories of pioneering women, from historical figures to modern innovators.
The day is named after Ada Lovelace (1815–1852), the daughter of poet Lord Byron and a brilliant mathematician. Lovelace is widely regarded as the world's first computer programmer for her work on Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine in the 1840s. She wrote extensive notes on the machine, including the first algorithm intended for computer processing, envisioning its potential beyond mere calculation to creative applications like composing music. Despite her groundbreaking ideas, her contributions were underrecognized for decades, making her a fitting symbol for the day.
