Huge thanks to everyone who made yesterday come together and go so well. We know a lot of effort and planning went into it to make sure we made the most of our time in the studio.

We've taken our lead from the World Cup with lots of hydration breaks!💦

It's very hot in the studio and with lots of people singing and working hard it's only getting hotter!
A quick stop to move the piano in and rearrange for the next session.

While we won't be presenting a concert this season, we're excited to be taking The Sheffield Chorale into the recording studio instead.

We're fortunate to have a collection of works that have been written for us, commissioned by us, or created by members of the choir, and we're looking forward to capturing them in professional-quality recordings.

We've been working hard over the last few weeks preparing these pieces for recording day.

It's a wonderful opportunity to preserve and share music that is uniquely part of The Sheffield Chorale's story, and we can't wait to hear the finished results. Watch this space for updates from the studio!

We're very pleased to share some exciting news!

Composer and soprano with The Sheffield Chorale, Sue Hughes has won a recent competition for UK composers at the
Cornwall International Male Choral Competition.

Her winning piece was performed in Truro Cathedral recently.

After Sunset

The sea lies quieted beneath
The after sunset flush
That leaves upon the heap'd grey clouds
The grapes’ faint purple blush.

Pale, from a little space in heaven
Of delicate ivory.
The sickle moon and one gold star
Look down upon the sea.
