We are looking for a creative, proactive and visually confident Social Media & Content Creator to help tell the story of our work and bring our activity to life across our digital platforms.

This is a hands-on content creation role. We are looking for someone who can see a story, develop an idea and turn it into engaging content - not simply someone who can schedule and publish posts.

THE CURTAIN FALLS…

As The Swamp Dwellers comes to a close, we do so with immense pride and gratitude.

What began as a production became something much more. Over two unforgettable weeks, audiences joined us in celebrating one of Africa’s greatest plays in Utopia Theatre’s Creative Hub, our first fully self-produced production in our own home. To see the final week sell out was a milestone we’re incredibly proud to celebrate.

We were deeply honoured to welcome Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, who travelled from Nigeria at the age of 92 to experience the production, meet young people in Sheffield and spend time in conversation with our audiences. It was a privilege that made this journey even more extraordinary.

To our exceptional cast, creative team, crew, volunteers, partners and supporters, thank you. Your talent, commitment and belief brought this remarkable production to life.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for filling our theatre, for your standing ovations, your thoughtful conversations and your unwavering support. Together, we celebrated the enduring power of African theatre and the importance of sharing these stories with new audiences.

This production has marked an important chapter in Utopia Theatre’s journey. As we continue our mission to champion African theatre and create bold, world-class work from Sheffield, we’re excited for what comes next.

The journey continues. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
