There were 10 releases only in the series which was a project started in 2012 to span the range of styles Lo Shea was exploring at that time. Hope Works Curator and resident (and Downlo @ Dan Sane Co-Creator) Lo Shea's Vinyl only ,limited pressing electronic music record label.Born out of late night jams in warehouses in Sheffield, especially Hope Works, the place where Lo Shea plays every month t
o a crowd of music freaks and party heads all in love with the fringes of modern electronic music....people searching for something other than the mainstream.....something with heart and vibe. Seaghdha has House and Techno as its heart, but with elements of basline, jazz, blues, and experimental electronica flowing from its Sheffield warehouse culture center. Its got an individual slant on things, but you can decide exactly what that is for yourself. The label was started by Lo Shea to release his own music, a series of 10 releases, each limited to 300 pressings....numbered 1-10 in Gaelic. Each release is accompanied by a video produced by a Sheffield visual artist, and will support the release. The First release included a stunning piece by the visual artist Marshall Artist. It totally conjures up the grainy, smoky ,lo-fi , monochrome aesthetic that Downlo @ Dan Sane pioneered in Sheffield on this third wave of warehouse clubbing in the Steel city.Indeed Lo Shea produced all the abstract graphic visuals in the club, but Marshall Artist took this ....and ran with it brilliantly. Dan Sane is only a few doors down from the legendary Niche club in Sheffield, its a place that Lo Shea experienced first hand in the early 90's as well as Scuba run by his good friend Jamie Wilkins, The Wicker Arches in Sheffield, NY Sushi @ The Unit (now Corporation) Plug before it was Plug (Capitol) and every other club including Gatecrasher - PRE GATECRASHER - when it was called The Republic! You can't help but hear some echoes of this past informing Seaghdha's rugged aesthetic...but its also one smoothed by years of production experience and the musicality of Lo Shea who is a musician first and foremost as well as a producer and dj.He has been an active player on the music scene in Sheffield since 1991....this is the latest chapter which brings together ALL these influences he has lived through, and helped create first hand. Music and art....they are all communication......and Seaghdha is a direct expression of the world from the perspective of a Raw Vibe , No-Nonsense warehouse club in Sheffield UK.
