We have been established for over a decade and have developed a reputation for high quality theatre worthy of the professional stage. We perform three plays a year

at The University of Sheffield’s Drama Studio, a renowned intimate theatre venue. Our members are encouraged to give creative input at all stages of production including script writing, set design, stage management, directing and acting.

Moon of the green leaves!

Silver on the face of the bride.

Oh wicked moon!

Leave the dark bough for love to hide!'

A runaway bride flees through the forest with her lover. Around them the village folk gather with knives and shotguns while the groom, filled with damaged pride, hunts ever closer. A trio of woodcutters implore the moon to let the lovers escape in shadow. Little do they know that the Moon is listening, and is far more interested in bloodspill than sanctuary.

Lorca’s 'Blood Wedding' mixes rural 1930s Spanish life with the supernatural. The vengeful Moon steps down from the sky to inhabit our human world in this tragic love story, while Death seeks to complete the cycle that will bring her power. Both guide the storyline of the characters in this fated village, leading the play further into darkness and bloodshed.

We're currently in need of Ushers and Front of House staff for our upcoming production of Blood Wedding. Are you able to help?

You will receive full training and you’ll get to see the show for free! Show dates are Wednesday 24th June to Saturday 27th June.

We need to be fully staffed on all 4 nights or the show cannot go ahead. You would need to be at the Drama Studio (Shearwood Road, just off Glossop Road) by 18:45 at the latest.

In celebration of what would have been Federico García Lorca’s 128th birthday, The Company is thrilled to share the official trailer for our upcoming production of Blood Wedding!

Lorca is a celebrated 20th century poet, playwright and theatre maker who continued to write themes of gay desire and political revolution despite the growing wave of fascism in Spain at the time. His lyrical writing style shines through in Blood Wedding, a tale of forbidden love, supernatural forces and revenge. This new interpretation explores Lorca’s world, foreshadowing the violence that would soon tear his beloved country apart and lead to his own tragic end.

Available performance slots:

1. Spring 2027 - Usually in March and will consist of four performances at the University Drama Studio.

1. Autumn 2027 - Usually in October. Consists of four performances at the University Drama Studio.

We will also be happy to accept submissions for our 2028 season. These will all consist of four performances at the University Drama Studio.

All submissions will be read by our committee and successful pitches will be determined by a committee vote.
