last years inaugural the giant international wooden block stacking championship was a soaring success, in that:
1) it actually occurred
2) a winner was, eventually, crowned (congratulations Claire!)
and 3) money was raised for a good cause.
for 2026 we return with a bigger venue, even more blocks, more glitz, more glamour, increased danger, and (in some ways) a nobler goal. and the only way to achieve all of this is seamless and selfless collaboration of everyone involved. after all, all we are is another brick in the wall. and this wall has towers to build.
the giant international wooden block stacking world championship is part comedy show and part actual wooden block stacking championship (taken at varying degrees of seriousness by the contestants or "stacktheletes" as we call them).
all profit (income from tickets minus venue hire) from the event will be donated to Sheffield Electrolysis Project.
the show is expected to be around 3 hours long including two intervals.
The Giant International Wooden Block Stacking World Championship 2026 is happening on Saturday 19th September 2026 at CADS, Arley Street, S2 4QP. Doors will open at 18:00 for a 18:30 start.
