The contestants are making their final costume adjustments, the venue Walkley Community Centre is looking decadent, the lights are starting to flicker, The Balkan Bandits sounded at their raucous best in rehearsal. Our final contestant is something of a mystery. We know very little about him, we don't even know what he looks like. We just know he is Joe Dolce's nephew. Who was Joe Dolce? Shaddapa Your Face, you don't know? He was only one of the 1980s most successful novelty musical singers. Was his nephew involved? We don't know. Is talent hereditary? Lets find out.

Contestant No.5 was runner-up at the 2019 Show-Off; the man with the moves, the guy with the grooves, comedy dance specialist Lawrence Dancer Bennett. Hip-hop-you-don't-stop-body-popping-funk-and-rocking, Lawrence can throw shapes to all styles of music, even at the same time. When not spending his time choreographing the latest steps, Lawrence is an avid wrestling fan, cosplay fanatic and theme park enthusiast. It's going to be one roller-coaster of a ride.

Contestant No. 4 is a man of many parts and another newcomer to the Show-Off. Some would say "he's a man of the streets"; others would say "No, he is a man of the theatre"; most would say "he's a bit of a Charlie (Chaplin)"; and they'd all be right. He's Sheffield street-theatre clown, Charlie Hammond. Recently seen performing the world's only out-of-water, solo, synchronised swimming show, he also entertained the masses as Bjork at New Year celebrations. We can't wait to see what talents he will bring to the stage this time round...

Contestant No. 3 is last time's winner, reigning champion and current Show-Off iconic poster girl; it's non-other than the marvellous Ashlee Lovebox AKA Inferno Ash. What this woman can't do with a hula hoop is not worth knowing about. What she can do with 20 hula hoops is astounding. Since winning the Show-Off crown last time round Inferno Ash has cirque'd up the world including appearing on Bulgaria's Got Talent. We can't wait to see what incredible big-top talents she will display for us this year...once more, the Marvellous Inferno Ash.

Be dazzled, be mystified, be in awe of contestant No.2, Ms Candida Cox. A newcomer to the Show Off, Candida Cox uses her powers of divination, shamanism and menstrual funkadelia to predict the future, determine destinies and communicate with Gaia herself. Displaying a cornucopia of wisdom in the realms of dream-interpretation, star-gazing and astronomy, Candida will attempt to channel her third eye to pe*****te each and every one of us.

Stan is the man who needs no introduction having performed in every Show-Off and twice winner; for his 10 word poems and his wrestler alter ego Captain "The Butcher" Reality. Let's say hello to this year's contestants. What a gorgeous, dazzling bunch of The Greatest Ever Yorkshire Show Offs they are. This year we have: Twice winner and The Fishpie Cabaret show impresario Stan Skinny; reigning champion and contestant on Bulgaria's Got Talent Inferno Ash; 2019 runner up, comedy-dance-wrestling-cosplay enthusiast Lawrence Dancer Bennett; cosmic witchcraft and shamanic mind-penetration from Show-Off newcomer ; professional clown and man of the street (theatre) Charlie Hammond; and the mysterious final entrant Joe Dolci's Nephew. The night is brought to a climax of bombastic proportions by Sheffield's legendary Show-Offs The Balkan Bandits, with a musical interlude ranging from Meatloaf to Monty Don provided by Gordon Pocket Music. Your compere for the evening is the one and only and we are hosted in the most bijou of period venues, Walkley Community Centre@ 7a Fir Street. Stay tuned for updates throughout the week on each contestant and get ready to enjoy the show.
