Hi folks, sorry this post is a little late, as always a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who came and supported us at our very successful June event.

Normally we are very guest number dependent on the weather, but on this occasion this didn't seem to make any difference to our attendee numbers, and we had a very respectable turn out, indeed far better than we could have truly hoped for. Nice to see a lot of new faces.

A BIG hi to Mark and Tracy who after their first visit are well and truly hooked on The Philly, we look forward to seeing you both at our next one.

Top spot/spots by our guest DJ Mr Gary Meadows, who really kept the mood flowing, always a pleasure to see such an interactive DJ who thoroughly give it his all when ever he is behind the decks. And a personal thank you to Gary for the fantastic gift of the brand new Reloop single headphone, its brilliant, we luv it and so very kind and generous of you, a top fella who I have the great privilege to class as a friend.
We can't wait to welcome you back!

The ever steady Bobby "T" (aka Mr Sellotape) kept things moving nicely, this fella has claimed the classic Motown vibe and made it his and this really has become his signature sound....great stuff Bobby!

Thanks to Christine for all her hard work on meeting greeting and wristband application, you did great Chris, a top job!

We can't put into words how much we value you continued support of our events, on a very hot day perhaps even to hot to dance you did us proud by joining us and making this a once again such fabulous afternoon, we thank you all so much for all the positive feedback.

Don't forget folks that we're here once again on Sunday 14th June, 2026 from 3:00pm - 9:00pm here at The Philly (always the second Sunday of the month) playing our usual mix of fully across the board Northern Soul, Motown and R&B.

This month we have the pleasure to welcome an old friend of The Philly, Mr Gary Meadows, as our guest DJ, Gary built up a large following on the scooter scene before crossing over to a more Northern Soul based audience, one of the best dressed guys around, as well as being a pretty niffy dancer and a crackin' DJ, and don't start me on his record collection. You won't be disappointed!

With have a 100% dance floor driven music policy and an open request format, and of course you're more than welcome to bring your own food to any of our events, and we're even talc friendly, but please use it sparingly.

Hi everyone,
and a huge thank you to everyone who came to our May Bank Holiday Special here at The Philly, guest number were somewhat down on our previous similar events but we understand that many other similar functions were also missing guests numbers, firstly the fabulous weather and more importantly to ourselves the major incident in Sheffield city centre, that had a huge impact on getting to us, so to everyone who made it, we give you an extra amount of praise and admiration

My thanks go firstly to Mr Nigel Filmer, DJ, promoter and on this occasion top electrical engineer and sound man, who came in to help iron out a few issues with both our and the venues sound system, and did a brilliant job!

Excellent work by the ever steady birthday boy Bobby "T", great stuff that man, you played a blindin' set!

A massive thank you to our guest DJ team Mr & Mrs J.A.S aka John and Janice, you did a wonderful extended spot as always behind the decks, we look forward to welcoming you both in the very near future.
