My craft teaching job took me to Clent this week, where fellow employees in the Ruskin Mill Trust enjoyed challenging themselves with developing skills in ceramics, blacksmithing, green woodwork and felting. It was a week of community, paying attention, connections with the land, developing heritage skills and reflecting on the holistic and healing nature of our work....

Not just a face this time....another challenging day painting a model from life in one sitting. I painted on paper prepared with an orange wash and clear gesso and used oilpaint, oilsticks and coloured pencil to attempt to create a luminosity and lightness to the portrait...
