WHAT IS MK DANCE?
MK Dance is an open level choreography based theatre dance class we set up primarily for our performing dance troupe starting up this year, which will lead on to performances in 2027 (but we welcome absolutely anyone from the ages 16+ even if you simply just want to come along and dance for fun)!
During the class you will be taught the choreography to a variety of tracks and music genres (usually working to each track for 3-4 weeks), throughout you are encouraged to only do what feels comfortable, and options will be available for more complex and intense movements, catering the class for all levels!

This class is currently being taught by Mark Kelwick (Artistic Director at MK Theatricals), who has over 15 years experience in performing arts and working in theatre, plus over 10 years experience teaching a wide range of classes.

📅 Tuesday evenings
⏰ 7pm (60 minutes)
📍 Saint Leonard's, 331 Arbourthorne Rd, S2 3RD

👤 Suitable for all ages 16+

VENUE DETAILS:
🚗 There is a car park available which will be unlocked at least 15 minutes before the class start time.

🚊 The Arbourthorne tram stop is just a minute away for those not driving.

🚪 The main doors will be open around 10 minutes before the class start time to sign in (we have another class running until 6:45pm and the doors will be locked until that class has finished). Once they are open head through the double doors opposite the entrance.

MK Dance is a beginner friendly choreography dance class for the community, where you will dance to some funky tunes and learn some fun choreography, all whilst improving on your musicality, coordination, rhythm, and stamina.

Please wear suitable footwear and comfortable clothing for the class, and all you will need to bring is your energy! 😄
(Possibly also a bottle of water - but there is a kitchen at the venue with drinking water available).

‼️ CLASS UPDATE ‼️

Sorry to announce that there is no class tomorrow, we will officially be starting with the weekly dance class next Sunday on the 10th May at 1:30pm (60 minute class) without any further delays.

You can start booking for next week immediately by dropping a DM to this page, or texting 07583812029
You don't need to pay beforehand, it's just a case of booking with your full name, you will then make payment for the class on the door - £5 cash or card), doors will be open from 1:15pm on the day at the Spires Centre.

If you have any queries or access requirements, please also mention these when making your booking.

We have recently set up a Facebook Group just for these classes, we advise joining so you don't miss any instant updates and information on these classes 😊

Please know that if any weeks are low on bookings the class will be cancelled, we need a certain amount of bookings per week to cover venue hire costs and teacher pay, we will always notify anyone booked on at least two hours before the class is due to begin if it's to be cancelled.

OPEN DAY

On behalf of the team, we just want to thank everyone who attended our open day yesterday, we hope you found it enjoyable and useful. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all, and having the time to get to know you! We are excited to start working with you in the near future!

Those who expressed interest in the open day, but couldn't make the date and time, we will be in touch when we can schedule another open day, maybe even later this year! There will still be opportunities to join us, whether that's for performance related opportunities, or anything behind the scenes!

In the meantime, please feel free to join our mailing list (link below), where we send out a quarterly newsletter with all our current events and opportunities listed, just in case you miss anything on our socials! We also send out bitesize emails in between for instant updates containing anything new!
