Black Valchromat isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but in this custom MWB Crafter interior it fell into place just beautifully. We expected it to darken the interior a little, and if I’m totally honest I wasn’t completely convinced it would work as well as we feel it does, but sometimes you just have to give it a go and trust the processes that we’ve been through so many times before. I’m glad Jamie (our friend and client) pushed for it. The reward for being brave is often great.

This custom project had just a few key requirements and boxes that had to be ticked. A fixed double, small kids bed, dining for three, induction hob, sink, fridge, hot and cold water, external shower and enough power to remain off grid for a few days at a minimum. Not to mention on board water and as much easily accessible storage as possible! Now all of this is of course “doable”, especially in larger base vehicles, however this vehicle was the extremely rare and lesser converted SWB Sprinter, so trying to get everything in here without it feeling cramped was a serious challenge. We took everything on board and drafted our plans for a reverse layout, kitchen at the back, bed at the front, garage accessible from the sliding door!

Huge props must go to the clients for trusting our vision for this. It takes a lot to step out of line and do something truly different. We appreciate you both!

Natural light is incredibly important in making a small space feel great! The more the better when it comes to windows and skylights. We take particular care in the placement of ours and the RV1 is no exception. Bringing the outside in is nonnegotiable! 2 big skylights and and 4 large awning style windows, all v important.

A hard day in the hills has its rewards.

Neatly integrated within the Romerworld RV1’s largest kitchen overhead is a hidden 52inch projector screen. Perfect for those rainy evenings.
