Playhouse 2 Shaw's Hidden Gem. Playhouse 2 is a 153 seat theatre in the heart of Shaw, Oldham. The unique open thrust stage provides perfect viewing from any angle.

The home of amateur theatre company 'Crompton Stage Society', since 1966, a wide variety of entertainment, professional as well as amateur, is produced each year. The theatre is solely owned and operated by the Society's membership with no regular external funding and new recruits to help run the theatre are more than welcome.

Oh, what a night – and what a production! 🎭
Last night, the cast and backstage team took their final bow for Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, in true celebratory style bringing a spectacular and memorable season to a close.

The encore was a spectacle in itself and a true celebration to finish with an ingenious idea from our talented director Liz who brought the backstage tech, pyro and demo team on for a well-deserved bow each evening – a fitting tribute to the people who make the magic happen behind the scenes.
And let's not forget the prompts, technical teams and dressers hidden away in their corners and boxes whose hard work helped make every performance possible.

👏 Congratulations to the cast, director, crew, production team, costumiers, set builders and all the volunteers, both front and back of house who created and contributed to such a successful and memorable production and season.

Finally a huge thank you to you for supporting us throughout the week and season. Your support, kind words, and wonderful feedback mean the world to us.

We look forward to welcoming you all back next season!
