I was commissioned to paint Bob Marley when I bought a car and the salesman asked what I did for a living.
He was immediately impressed with some of my examples and asked if I have any of Bob Marley. I thought I did but found I'd sold my last one. So after some research and consultation with the customer we came up with this piece.
His thank you WhatsApp message read as follows...
Thank you so much for the painting Karl , I'm over the moon with it. It's already hung where I can look at it everyday...

Portrait of Sheree in progress...
Sheree sat for me for my portrait class I run. I wasn't able to draw from life myself so I took a few photos to work from.
This was the first time Sheree had done anything like this and she loved it. Saying she'll be back again sometime.
This is fine using 2b ,4b and 8b plus putty eraser and blending stump.

Born in 1981 British actor Hopi Grace has a fine list of credits to her name in film , TV and the Theatre.
And a great looking tattoo on her right arm.
My oil painting is based on a widely available photo of her. If anyone knows her ask if she'll sit for me.

Selby Art Collective
Well thank you Selby and everyone who came along to the exhibition yesterday at The George Inn.
I finally got home and unpacked by about 8pm.

I'd been awake stupidly since 530am so what a long day BUT what a great day.

I sold 3 pieces of artwork and picked up two new artists who want to attend my portrait classes or life drawing classes or indeed both

Had some great conversations...it's funny how sometimes we go down a rabbit hole and find ourselves talking about non art stuff..
Cat sitting , the Miners strike , jam sandwiches !

So yeah it was a great day
Thank you to everyone old and new who came along to chat, look , buy and introduce themselves.
We couldn't do this without people through the door.
I apologise to those who couldn't find anywhere to park or found it difficult because of the market.
As a group we've discussed this and will find solutions for future events.

Art is therapy.
Follow your dreams before they follow someone else.
