🎶 ONE OF THE UK'S GREAT CONTEMPORARY SONGWRITERS 🎶

We can't wait to welcome top ten charting Mercury Prize nominee and one of the country's most arresting singer songwriters - I Am Kloot's John Bramwell - for his first show at Selby Town Hall in nearly 12 years.

Nobody creates spellbinding, poignantly lyrical vignettes which tug at the heartstrings quite like John. This will be a special night in our intimate little space.

Back in deepest darkest winter, on the first weekend of January, So Choir took over the Town Hall for a joyful recreation of Shed Seven's Chasing Rainbows featuring over 130 voices.

The recording is now out, and the results are magnificent!

If you enjoy this and fancy taking part, So Choir meet at the Town Hall every Thursday morning.

💃 THE VOICE OF BUENOS AIRES - ARGENTINE TANGO BRILLIANCE 💃

We're so excited that one of Argentina's greatest tango singers, MARTIN ALVARADO, will be making his Selby Town Hall debut two weeks today (12th Sep).

A world renowned troubadour, Martin takes tango and other folkloric styles from his homeland to new levels of artistry, accompanied by the incredible guitar quartet Gerardo Villar Y Los Aguirre.

This show will be truly world class - we can't wait!

🏊SUPER SPLASHY, SUPER FUN, HIT PHYSICAL THEATRE SHOW 🏊

In a couple of weeks I'll be heading off to the world's biggest performing arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, on the look out for brilliant new theatre and comedy shows.

One of the breakout hits of last year's festival - Ellie Whittaker and Alexander Burnett's high-energy, virtuosic physical comedy The Crawl - will be coming to the Town Hall in early autumn. Two swimmers go head-to head for the race of a lifetime in “a tantalising, good-time show which truly gets the heart racing” (Theatre Weekly). It's a really unique performance - highly entertaining, briliantly performed, a little bit silly, and rather heartwarming!

🎺 BRASS AT THE PROMS IS BACK! 🎺

Following a magnificent debut last year, we're returning to the stunning surroundings of Selby Abbey next Saturday (8th Aug) for another rousing summer proms style concert from one of the world's finest brass bands, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band.

There are only a handful of tickets left for reserved seating in the main nave, so if you want to choose your seat we'd recommend buying those tickets now!
