For those who knew Phil...

I've been asked by Phil Deverall's daughter Sarah to disseminate this message (Andy F) so here goes:

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your very kind messages regarding Dad. I have been quite overwhelmed with the love and admiration that so many of you have been telling me about. He was so special to us and it’s quite apparent, to you too.
Many of you will already know of Dad’s funeral arrangements through word of mouth or Facebook, but for those who do not and would like to attend, here are the details –

TUESDAY 3rd JANUARY at 12.30pm

WEST WILTSHIRE CREMATORIUM,
DEVIZES ROAD,
SEMINGTON,
TROWBRIDGE,
BA14 6HL.

For those unable to attend, there will be a WEBCAST of the service available to watch online. The details are as follows –

There will also be a wake for Dad to be held straight after at the Somerset Arms pub in Semington. If any of you wish to bring your instruments to the wake, PLEASE DO!!! We want to give Dad the best send off we can, and as I said in my previous email, he was truly in his element when playing along with you all.

This message will sadly be the last from Dad’s account. If any of you have any concerns about the funeral, please contact us through my husband’s email – [email protected]

Finally, I would like to thank you all on behalf of the family, for making his life so happy and joy filled. He truly had some of the best friends anyone could wish for.

Kindest regards,

Sarah.

Many of our former audience will be saddened to learn that this lovely chap Phil Deverall passed away earlier today.

Phil was a regular performer, a fabulous musician, singer and all round decent bloke.

Wiltshire is poorer without him 😥

Down here in Wiltshire it's Henry Priestman week! On Saturday evening 7th May, Henry will be joined by side-kick Loved-Up Les Glover in concert at the wonderful Rachel Fowler Centre in Melksham. Tickets are only £7.50, available in person at the Vaults in Devizes, or online from WeGotTickets. On the following night, Sunday, Hen & Les will be playing one of our Music Cruises on the K&A canal. Unfortunately that sold out a while ago now, so all the more reason to join us on Saturday!

Seend Acoustic may be "resting" but its spirit is still abroad in the land. As promised, we'll still be bringing you a few "specials" during 2016, including our (in)famous Sunday night Music Cruises in the Summer. Just to whet your appetities, we've already booked The Croutons (April) Henry Priestman & Loved-Up Les Glover (May), Hickman & Cassidy (also in May), and (STOP PRESS) Phil King (September). We're also talking to a couple of other acts for June/ July/ August. Times/ dates/ ticket info nearer the time, but just thought you'd all like something to look forward to!

But in other news. Hickman and Cassidy are booked to play on the boat next May!

Remember them?

Just a note to all our avid readers following last night's hugely successful final presentation at the club. Thanks to all the wonderful artists who have graced our "stage" over the last three years by playing there, and submitted to our good-natured banter. Thanks also to all the people who have turned up as our audience to support the club. There have been some great nights and we'll have some good memories. Apologies to those who have been palmed off with shoddy, sub-standard goods from our raffle.

Although the club has now been carefully folded up and put back into its box, we will be back with occasional presentations in 2016. Look out for Henry Priestman & Loved-Up Les Glover next May and (from April onwards) our Sunday night music cruises on the K&A canal.

With best wishes from Malc & Andy ###
