🎭✨ SUPPORT LOCAL THEATRE! ✨🎭

We’re delighted to help spread the word about an exciting upcoming production from our friends at Maryport Amateur Operatic and Drama Society (MAODS).

This June, MAODS will be bringing the West Cumbrian premiere of Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical to the Carnegie Theatre, Workington, from 10th–13th June.

Featuring iconic hits including I Will Survive, It’s Raining Men, and True Colours, this fabulous musical is packed with unforgettable music, spectacular costumes, laughter, and heart.

More importantly, Priscilla carries a powerful message of inclusivity, acceptance, and finding your community despite your differences. The cast reflects this spirit, bringing together talented performers of all genders, ages, sexualities, shapes, and sizes to tell this uplifting story.

As a fellow local theatre society, we’re proud to support MAODS and help spread the word about what promises to be a fantastic production. Local theatre thrives because of the support of its audiences, and we’d love to see this show playing to full houses throughout its run.

This year’s workshop will be led by Tosh McGregor and will focus on acting and performance, culminating in a special showcase performance for family, friends and GADS members on Friday evening!

🎭 Everyone will be cast in the comedy play A Lighter Shade of Noir
👕 Includes a GADS Summer Workshop T-shirt
🍎 Mid-morning snack provided

And that's a wrap on our 21st Century Showcase.

Thank you to everyone who came to support the show, who gave us lovely feedback afterwards, and who excitedly asked "what's next?"

Whilst we're not sure what's in the pipeline for GADS for the remainder of 2026, as our beloved hall is getting some exciting renovations, this won't be the last you'll hear from us!
