What a lovely day today at Chatsworth show. Only Vasiliki dancing today but oh my goodness I am so proud of this girl..... after a major wobble earlier this year she has fought back to give 2 fabulous days of dancing..... Galashiels in August bagging herself 3rd overall in the section and then today another 3rd overall in her section.

Vasi I'm incredibly proud of your resilience and work ethic... this girl is back!!!!
Keep up the good work.

And to top it off we've had a lovely day exploring the many stalls and displays ❤️

We are super proud of our Marith who has worked so very hard to gain the A level results she needed to be attending Edinburgh University to study History and German in September.

Well done M .... now you can continue dancing too!!

Hopefully you'll come and back and pass on your knowledge to us too!

It was lovely receiving photos from the gorgeous Edie-Jean today while she was out representing our team today at Northumberland Show.

She bagged herself a 5th in Flora and more importantly looks like she and her family had a wonderful day out.

As we approach the end to our Easter Break I would just like to highlight a few of our dancers who have taken part in something a little different during the holidays. Well done to Edie, Thomasina and Vasi for their performances all week at the Scunthorpe Stage Dance Festival.

Edie - some gorgeous performances and bagged a 3rd in her beautiful lyrical modern (first time).

Thomasina - what a festival ...2 solos and 2 first prizes.. tap and modern. Who could ask for more. And to top it all awarded the most promising tap dancer trophy.

Vasi - some beautiful work shown in all your duet and solo performances..... wow! What a improvement all round.

We are very proud of every one of you ###

A fab day today at the HDTAE Championships. Super proud of my 2 dancers.....Vasi ... only your second championship and your first OPEN Championships. You danced your socks off... amazing effort and fabulous attitude. And a 3rd place in the hornpipe!!!

Edie.... you looked so at home today.... amazing presentation and effort.... never stop being the gorgeous girl you are.... I'm so very proud of you both today ###

First competition of the year for our team. Only Vasi and Edie out today but oh what a day it was.

We started with a kilt catastrophe for Edie which she handled like a pro..... not one single cross word or complaint ..... we owe a huge thank you to Lesley Thomson for her assistance. We really appreciate what you did which gave Edie the confidence to go and dance her socks off. Medals in 5 out of 7 dances in a strong section of 10 dances. I'm so proud x

Then Vasi.... so far Premier has been daunting.... today we raised our game. You came out fighting from the start... you looked like you belonged today. The best I've seen you dance in a long time. And the results reflected this. One very proud teacher today ###

(Although...I think the best prize today of course was that raffle prize Vasiliki 😂)

2 of our girls have been performing for the White Rose Highland Dance Company these past weekends

Firstly for the Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre Christmas Fair 🎄 and then for Scotty's Bar St Andrews Night 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Amazing performances with fabulous feedback from audiences and organisers. Always learning too.... first time dancing a Fling to a Drum solo 🥁

Well Done girls!

Tonight in class we celebrated our Marith's 18th Birthday. What a fabulous, hardworking and inspirational girl you are M..... we hope you enjoyed class tonight (although I think we all need to practise our Strip the Willow!!)

Well that's us home from a fantastic scholarship weekend in Scotland with our 3 superstars.... we must give a huge thank you to the Scottish Dance Teachers' Alliance - SDTA for the nominations and the amazing event they put on over the weekend. A lot of time and effort goes into making this event so special and we really appreciate that.

Everyone surpassed themselves this year. Girls I am so proud of your work ethic, attitude and effort this weekend (and in the preparation to get yourselves there!).

Some fabulous results just topped that off

Edie-Jean.... you goal last year was to qualify this year and you DID IT.. and not only that you wowed us with your choreography and earned yourself a judges recognition point.

Thomasina .... you were so much more relaxed and confident this year and really gave 100%. And a huge improvement with theory this year earning a dance point for gaining over 80% !

Vasiliki....I could not have asked for more of you.... the effort level was raised so much it brought a tear to my eye.... that presentation in your choreography dance.. just wow!!! You set yourself a personal goal to improve on last year..... well I think we can say you have achieved that....5th for your theory (just wow), judges placing in Tribute to JL and in choreography and a judges recognition in the dance master class....a full house of placings this year!!

I could not be prouder of all three girls who each gave 100% and individually smashed their own personal goals.

Now let's get working for next year!!!
