ANOTHER EXCITING MEMBER OF OUR FACULTY! ✨

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Jack Storm will be continuing his work with our students at Hatton College!

Jack brings his professional experience, industry knowledge and leadership skills, helping our students understand that training for a career in the performing arts is about so much more than what happens in the studio.

Through his Creative Business lectures, Jack will continue to support our students in building their professional portfolios, developing their understanding of the industry and learning how to present themselves as confident, employable and professional performers.

But that's not all!

Jack will also be teaching Contemporary Jazz, with a focus on the incredible Matt Mattox technique. This training will challenge our students to develop their technical ability, musicality, coordination, strength and understanding of jazz movement, giving them another essential style and technique to add to their ever-growing toolkit.

With Jack continuing to share his experience, knowledge and passion with our students, we are excited to see them grow both as performers and as future professionals.

Huge congratulations to Hatton College graduate Jack! ❤️

Jack recently received an emergency cover call to step back into his role as 'Tommo' in 'Calendar Girls' as the production toured from the Stephen Joseph Theatre to Theatre by the Lake, Keswick.

⏱️ 4 HOURS. 🚆 ONE TRAIN JOURNEY. 🎭 A FEW HOURS OF REHEARSAL ON STAGE.
- THEN STRAIGHT BACK INTO THE ROLE!

Although the opportunity only lasted for a few performances, it was an incredible experience and a fantastic achievement; especially as this was Jack’s very first professional contract. 🌟

THIS is exactly what we train our students for.

At Hatton College, we don’t just prepare students to perform. We prepare them for the real industry.

Jack is a brilliant example of that training in action.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Chris Clark is joining the faculty at Hatton College as Lecturer in Commercial Dance and Creative Performance!

Chris brings an incredible wealth of professional experience, creativity and, most importantly, his own unique movement style to our students.

His training is about so much more than simply learning choreography. Chris works with the students to help them understand movement through the body, how it feels, how it works, where it comes from and how to use their bodies with greater control and expression.

This is exactly the kind of training we want for our students: understanding the WHY, not just learning the WHAT.

With Chris joining an already incredible faculty of industry professionals; helping our students to become versatile, confident and industry-ready performers.

We are so excited to have Chris as part of the Hatton College family and can't wait to see how his expertise and unique approach develop our students even further.

🎶 NEW ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR HATTON COLLEGE STUDENTS! 🎶

As part of our continued commitment to providing students with the very best industry-focused training, we're delighted to introduce Musical Instrument Tuition as a brand-new enrichment opportunity from September 2026.

Led by Matt Brooksbank, who joined our teaching faculty last academic year, students will now have the opportunity to develop practical instrumental skills alongside their BTEC Performing Arts studies. Matt has already become a valued member of our team, teaching Music Theory, Vocal Harmonies, and supporting a number of our evening classes.

Students can choose to learn:

🎵 NEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2026 – SONGWRITING & COMPOSITION 🎵 Hatton Performing Arts Hsopa Scarborough Matt Brooksbank Shannon Ogle Julie Hatton

We're excited to announce another fantastic addition to the Hatton College timetable!

From September 2026, students studying on our BTEC Performing Arts course will have the opportunity to take part in our brand-new Songwriting & Composition lessons, led by faculty member Matt Brooksbank.

This exciting new module gives students the chance to develop their creativity while learning the foundations of writing original music. They'll explore:

Song structure
Chord progressions
Melody writing
Lyrical expression
Developing their own unique musical style

The journey doesn't stop there! Once students have written their own original songs, they'll have the opportunity to record them professionally, giving them a finished product to add to their portfolio and showcase their talents.

At Hatton College, we're continually developing our curriculum to reflect the ever-changing performing arts industry. We believe in giving our students as many opportunities as possible to broaden their skill set, increase their confidence, and improve their future employability.

A huge congratulations to our incredible Level 3 Performing Arts Practice students, who have all achieved outstanding results this year! We are so proud to say that every student has gained excellent grades and has secured their chosen destination, whether that's university, professional training, employment or taking the next exciting step in their performing arts journey.

At Hatton College, our Work Based Learning Centre gives students real-life industry experience through performances, workshops and professional opportunities, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in the performing arts.

🎙️ VOICE-OVER INDUSTRY TRAINING | HATTON COLLEGE

Our Performing Arts Practice students have been stepping into the world of professional voice-over work, developing real industry skills through hands-on training with industry professional Shannon Rewcroft.

Working as voice-over artists requires much more than just reading a script. Students have been learning how to:

🎧 Apply different vocal intentions to match a brief
🎧 Use tone, pace and clarity to sell a product or story
🎧 Adapt their voice for different audiences and brands
🎧 Create engaging character voices and commercial styles
🎧 Develop strong diction and microphone technique
🎧 Understand professional recording standards used in radio and advertising

Voice-over work is a key skill across radio advertising, television commercials, online marketing campaigns, podcasts, animation, audiobooks and corporate media, giving students a real insight into how versatile a performer’s voice must be within the industry.

A huge well done to our students for their professionalism, creativity and commitment throughout this industry session.

And thank you faculty member, Shannon Rewcroft, for sharing her expertise and giving our students such valuable real-world experience.
