What a night with these legends at the Olivia and Elsie's Charity Ball last night 💜💛

Thanks to all those who came together for a special night, bid on auctions, donated their cash and hit the dancefloor 💃

Well done to all those who avoided spilling soup or gravy down their posh clothes 💪

A few weeks ago we did our first “HOUSE PARTY LIVE “for 2026 when we took over the marquee stage and broadcast our weekly radio show live from Staxtonbury Music Festival

All the GCSE talk today got me thinking back to school

After sitting in my careers advisor meeting they said to me

“ Yeah you wanna be a DJ, but what do you want to do for a proper job “
( I was then steered towards being a social worker )

If only at that point in time they could have seen where DJing and music production was going and the money involved maybe the encouragement would have been different.

DJing still isn’t widely given the credit it deserves as the profession it is and can be, but it’s certainly much improved with opportunities to study and learn ⬆️

PS every house had one of these plants back then !

A level result day and hopefully the result people hoped for but if not

I’ve worked throughout my career in all the roles below and never used one part of my A levels in doing so :

- Managing Director and Commercial Director of multiple multi-million pound turnover companies across different sectors
- Operations Director
- Festival Owner
- DJ / Host / Presenter

I’ve honestly never used or needed any aspect of my A levels

The job market is probably harder than ever but there’s also more opportunity than ever to get yourself noticed and known and/or start your own venture

If there were a couple of things that got me through that A levels didn’t teach me :

- it’s about building long term valued relationships, forget short term wins
- It’s about caring to deliver more
- It’s about the way you treat people
- It’s about trust and likability

Lastly it’s about doing something you genuinely love and thrive doing, I’ve been lucky to have that in all my roles and been fortunate to work with some great people who helped me along the way 🙏
