The Acoustic Gathering team run a wealth of live music events in and around the Scarborough area. This year we are busier than ever with two new massive additions to our schedule. The Lightning Seeds Acoustic Gathering Spectacular and Scarborough Seafest, where we will this year be organising all the musicians for the event. Of course it all started with Acoustic Gathering Festival, which has typi
cally been a free event in Peasholm Park, Scarborough, typically hosted on the second Sunday in September to mark the end of the summer season. Since 2006 when the first Acoustic Gathering took place, the main focus of the event has been to showcase local musicians alongside nationally and internationally renowned artists. Over the five years it has run, the festival has showcased hundreds of local amateur singer/songwriters and artists along side some of the worlds leading acoustic and folk artists. In a new twist for this year, we are proud to present our Saturday Spectacular - The Lightning Seeds will perform a special acoustic set, supported by Chris Helme (Seahorses, The Yards) and our very own Mark Stanley and The Field Notes. When you add a proper real ale bar, run by people who not only know how to serve drinks properly but how to brew them as well, you start to see why we're so excited about this. Sunday sees all the usual unusualness we like to bring to town unfold across ten and a half hours of utterly brilliant festival happiness. We have the great pleasure of playing host to 3 Daft Monkeys, headlining the event for the second time. The last time they were here, they enjoyed the experience so much, they wrote about in a song!
