How apt Mr Welles. Don't belive everything you hear on the wireless, just as we should not belive everything on the internet is true.

In the not too distant future will it become a privilege to not have any online presence?

This series of drawings are inspired after exploring the Scarborough South Bay Beach during the winter months December to January.

The landscape is highly dynamic, some changes taking less than a second whilst other changes are seasonal. Twice a day the tide rises and falls creating two contrasting landscapes regardless of weather conditions and time of year.

It is an immersive experience, especially in winter with a high sea. You can see the incoming waves, you can hear the waves breaking, you can smell and feel the salt spray as it’s carried by the wind. It seems an orchestra of natural forces attack the land in a battle between the fluid sea and the solid land. The sea retreats leaving the beach exposed again illuminated by a watery yellow light from the sun low in the sky for this time of year.
