📣 Job Opportunity – Summer Student 🔧🌱

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Maintenance Department!

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team in a diverse and hands-on role helping maintain and service SRT’s facilities across Shetland.

⚙️ About the Role
The successful applicant will assist our in-house trades team and help service and maintain a variety of SRT sites. The role will involve a range of tasks, with a strong focus on groundskeeping duties, including:

• Grass cutting
• Line marking of activity areas
• General maintenance support across facilities

🌿 Experience
Similar experience would be an advantage, but it’s not essential - full training will be provided.

🚐 Requirements
• Must be over 17 years of age
• Hold a full clean driving licence

This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, gain practical experience, and be part of a team helping maintain facilities used by the community.

📣 Job Vacancy – Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) 🔧

Shetland Recreational Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our team and help maintain the properties and facilities owned and operated by SRT.

⚙️ About the Role
Your primary trade skill will be Mechanical, and you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of work across SRT sites, including:

• Planned and responsive maintenance repairs
• Refurbishment and alteration works
• Tracing and repairing faults
• Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken

In addition to your main trade, you will also be expected to carry out semi-skilled cross-trade maintenance tasks to support the wider maintenance team and participate in an on-call rota system to respond to emergency maintenance situations outside of normal working hours.

🚐 A company van will be provided for travel between sites.
