A letter from Leo to the members and supporters of Iron Mighty,
I’d like to start this heartbreaking announcement by saying thank you to everyone who has contacted me in support over the last couple of days, I love you all and it has meant the world to me that you all have been so supportive.
I have tried to keep a dignified silence over the upsetting events of the past year, however I have now been put in a position where I need to speak out to try and clear up some of the confusion, and answer some of the questions I’m being asked. Some of you may have received an email regarding your membership most of you, I suspect, will not have.
A lot of people have been told I left or ‘abandoned’ the business last year, this couldn’t be further from the truth, everyone that knows me, knows how hard I worked to start and build Iron Mighty and that it was my true passion but during lockdown in the winter of 2020, an attempt was made (illegally) to steal the business and all it’s assets. Using all of my passwords and personal security info documents were forged and £1000’s of loans were taken out in my name. My personal direct debits and bank cards were all cancelled before I was locked out of all my emails and accounts. There were also some serious allegations made against me in an attempt to completely remove me, thankfully these were dealt with swiftly by the police and a solicitor.
The take over did not succeed in its entirety, I remained a legal director of the business but I was grieving heavily for the loss of my daughter and I didn’t have the emotional strength to fight back, this takeover was the crescendo of years of suffering an abusive, coercive, controlling relationship and I was at rock bottom.
I attempted to negotiate the selling of my half of the business, to provide a clean slate for all involved but was not successful.
I was only made aware of the changes that are happening on Monday along with the rest of you but despite what you have been told I do not have access to any of the accounts, emails, software or membership information.
The contents of Iron Mighty’s bank account, business loans and assets have all be ‘gifted’ to a new business, leaving only debt. My artwork and intellectual property has and still is being used against my will, even photos of me.
This is all now in the hands of HMRC and liquidators, but anyone who is offered a new gym business in Saxmundham might want to bear this all in mind.
I’m so sorry I let you all down, when I was supported by so many wonderful people. I’m sorry I wasn’t strong enough when it counted most.
Leo x
