Alan Score Piano Tuner & Technician Piano Tuner From the age of 16 I started a 5 year apprenticeship in renovation of piano's whilst working at Hickies in Reading.

For 2 years I also attended the London College of Furniture to learn tuning. I started my own tuning and renovation business in 1990 and am currently working for households, schools, colleges and local festivals. Some of my clients include Eton College, Windsor music festival, Wellington College and Phyllis Court Club. When required in my area I also do work for Markson Piano's who are a renowned

company based in London and Chris Venables Piano's. I am featured in The Book of Excellence (Maidenhead & Guildford) and am trained in all makes of pianos. I pride myself on listening to my clients and what their requirements are. I give impartial and honest advice and will always give my best in knowledge and expertise whether the piano is very old or brand new. I am always willing to give advice where needed.

When I first started tuning this piano in 2008 it had been a tone down for many years as they had been told it would never get to concert pitch (A440) . So over the years tuning it regularly every 6 months I have slowly raised the pitch and for the last 5 odd years it has stayed at pitch with no problems at all .

Though I love my job it definitely makes it even better on a sunny day and a beautiful view!!☀️

Though this piano isn't too bad , always look out for moth in your piano . As they can do alot of damage to the felts . ...

Though this piano isn't too bad , always look out for moth in your piano . As they can do alot of damage to the felts . Look out for the cocoons that quite often hang from the strings or you'll see holes in the felts .
