The Geraldine Lamb Dance School was founded in 1918 by the late Geraldine Lamb, Sue Cooks Grandmother. Following Sue’s training at Elmhurst Ballet School, one of the country’s leading professional dance schools, the Saltash School of Dance was established in 1984 and in 1997 the two schools joined forces to become one. ate and Diploma of the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2004 Kirsty Nicholson joined the teaching faculty having trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance, gaining her Licentiate of the RAD as well as her Teaching Degree. Kirsty is a former pupil of the school, she also holds the teaching qualification of the ISTD. Lara Cook joined us in 2017 having dance professionally and then gained the Royal Academy of Dance’s Professional Dancers Teachers Diploma. The school aims to encourage children to dance, build their confidence and develop their natural love of moving to music. We offer a variety of classes including ballet, tap, modern and jazz, with examinations taking place twice yearly in all disciplines, achieving very good results. Jessica Nicholson and Clara Madge are Currently Royal Ballet School Junior Associates. Dancing dancing professionally is Gavin Eden, is performing in Cats, in Asia and previously in the West End Production of We Will Rock You. Ben Cook (Geraldine’s great grandson) is dancing with Moravian Ballet Theatre and Sam Parham is dancing withe Estonia National Ballet. Nick Butcher has been appearing in the west end’s Half a six pence and School of Rock. Former pupils of the school include Wayne Sleep, Angela Rippon, Fern Britton, Judy Spiers, Geoffrey Cauley (dancer and choreographer with the Royal Ballet Company).
