Huge thanks to Solenis for loaning us the hi‑vis vests that kept our volunteers shining bright all weekend. Their support helped us stay visible, safe, and running smoothly from festival opening to final race. Community partnerships like this keep the Bradford Dragonboat Festival afloat — and we’re grateful.

The Canal & River Trust crew launched in with a mighty battle cry,
Ready to race, to paddle hard, to keep their boat bone‑dry.
But one lean over sent everyone swimming river,
Sixteen soggy legends drifting, laughing, begging please, no more.
The rescue team arrived in style — heroes swooping by,
And next year’s vow is louder still: stay upright, stay balanced, stay dry.

To the volunteers — our heroes in hi‑vis and hats,
The ones who keep the festival running (and stop us all going splat).

You built up the site like DIY kings,
Armed with cable ties, hope, and “Let’s see what tomorrow brings.”
You hammered and taped with superhero flair —
Site crew — you made a whole village appear out of air.

Parking marshals — brave souls of the lane,
Guiding cars whose drivers had switched off their brain.
You faced the ones who ignored cones, signs, and fate —
Parking heroes — your patience level is truly great.

Litter pickers — warriors of the grabber stick,
Battling glitter that clings like it’s made of glue and brick.
You found half chips, rogue socks, and festival debris galore —
Clean‑up crew — you deserve applause, a medal, and maybe a chore‑free week or four.

Lost children? Found.
Lost parents? Found too.
Lost sense of direction? That one’s on you.
You reunited families with walkie‑talkie grace —
Reunion team — tiny heroes in a giant race.

Participant Village security — bouncers of the boat brigade,
Checking paddles, passes, and whatever choices people made.
“Is that your boat? Your paddle? Your friend?”
Village security — you kept order right to the end.

Disabled parking at the quadrant — smooth as a pit‑stop crew,
Calm, kind, organised, and always knowing what to do.
You handled vans, cars, emergency vehicle and the occasional “just for a tick” —
Quadrant crew — your efficiency is honestly sick.

You answered questions from dawn till dusk —
“Where’s the band stand?” “Is this your child?” “Can you hold my sandwich?” (We trust.)
“Does the dragon start boating at half past two?”
Info point heroes — your patience deserves a statue or two.

Lost property — detectives of the festival field,
Reuniting keys, phones, iPads, clothing, and whatever else was revealed.
Including one rubber chicken with a suspicious past —
Lost property team — your mystery‑solving skills are unsurpassed.

Event and management control — the festival’s mighty brain,
Keeping water and land safe again and again.
You stayed calm while pretending nothing was wrong —
Event and management control — you deserve a spa day, a nap, and a gong.

And when the crowds left, you stayed behind,
Tidying, stacking, muttering “Who left THIS?” with a sigh resigned.
You restored the park to its pre‑festival state —
Volunteers — you’re brilliant, hilarious, and straight‑up great.

Without you, we’d be a very enthusiastic disaster.
With you, we’re a festival masterpiece — faster, funnier, and full of laughter.
Thank you — loudly, proudly, joyfully — thank you. You mean the world 🌍 to us 💓

A big Bradford thank‑you to Asda Shipley 💛🐉
For every bottle of water,
every biscuit and brew,
for squash, tea, coffee
(and yes — the toilet rolls too).

You kept our volunteers refreshed,
looked after and bright,
fueling the festival spirit
from morning to night.

Your support means the world to us —
thank you for being part of our Dragonboat family.

Thank you appreciation post!

A shout‑out to Ninehundred Communications Group🐉📡

For every radio loaned, each crackle and call,
you kept our festival moving,
no mix‑ups, no mayhem, no chaos at all.

From volunteers to safety crews,
your airwaves kept us on track —
a chorus of coordination
flowing through every handheld pack.

So here’s our Bradford Dragonboat thanks —
loud, grateful and true.
Your support helped steer the whole weekend,
and we couldn’t have done it without you.

A tasty thank‑you to Tiffin Sandwiches 🐉💛
To Tiffins — heroes of the grab bag and snack brigade,
fueling volunteers with every sandwich made.

Crisps, fruit, chocolate, water on hand,
keeping our crew going better than we’d planned.

Your continued support means the world to us all —
you fed the festival spirit,
and kept Bradford standing tall.
A big thank you from us all

A little poem of thanks 💛🐉
To Premier Traffic Management Limited

Your cones stood firm, your barriers true,
guiding crowds with steady lines
and keeping every paddler safe as they flew.

From morning buzz to festival close,
you helped the whole event run right.
So here’s our heartfelt Bradford thanks —
for every cone, each barrier,
and all your support that means the world 🌍 to us!

🏁 Bradford Dragon Boat Festival — Multi‑Charity Championship 2026
What a spectacular end to an unforgettable weekend on the water.

Huge congratulations to The Mighty Janus, our 2026 Champions, and to all our brilliant finalists who pushed every stroke, every second, and every ounce of teamwork to the limit. Your determination lit up the river

But yesterday wasn’t just about medals — it was about 28 incredible teams, each racing for a cause that matters. Together, you raised thousands for charities across our district and beyond, proving once again that Bradford’s heart is as strong as its paddling power.

To every crew, volunteer, supporter, charity, partner, and festival‑goer: thank you. You brought colour, noise, kindness, and community spirit in bucketloads. You made this festival what it is.

Here’s to the champions.
Here’s to the finalists.
Here’s to everyone who took part.
And here’s to Bradford — closing the festival with pride, joy, and one mighty splash. 💛🐉
