Dear ICEBERG followers, collaborators and friends,
Following 5 years of improvising together and of curating spaces for the Scottish improvisation scene to meet, play and grow, ICEBERG is now shifting its structure.
In response to the restrictions of the pandemic and of some of our members moving away from Glasgow, ICEBERG has needed to adapt. Co-founders Eilon, Nicolette Corcoran Macleod, Penny Chivas and Zoe Katsilerou, have decided to allow ICEBERG’s existing structure to shift, and this is a decision taken in order to allow for the work we have created so far to continue in a vibrant and creative way. Whilst all of us are still improvising in our own ways, and collaborate with each other with every possible opportunity, it is impossible for the four of us to continue to work in the same ways as before. Due to this, ICEBERG will expand its activities and reach to the North of England and Scotland, and Zoe Katsilerou - Movement and Voice Artist will take over the artistic direction and management.
This shift will alter the internal workings of ICEBERG, however, its ethos will remain the same. Having seen and felt the impact that our work so far has brought to the Glasgow and Scottish community, Zoe will continue to strive to create spaces where interdisciplinary improvisation performance practice can grow and will continue to bring interdisciplinary practitioners together to practice, connect and play. Eilon, Nicolette and Penny will continue to be close collaborators of ICEBERG, and this invitation applies to all of those interested in continuing their existing relationship with our work.
Please, continue to follow our social media platforms to keep up to date with Zoe continuing the work that ICEBERG as a collective has started, and do not hesitate to contact Zoe with any ideas, thoughts and aspirations for improvisation activities in the future. With ICEBERG expanding its reach to the North of England as well as Scotland, Zoe is interested in also connecting with practitioners who might have not had an opportunity to previously engage with this work.
We collectively want to thank the CCA Glasgow and The Work Roomfor the ongoing support these 5 years, Creative Scotland for helping us realise the Weekends of Improvisation in Glasgow, and each one of you who have engaged with us and our activities. The work we have been delivering all these years would not have been possible without all of you.
Thank you,
The ICEBERG team
