We are thrilled to announce that
is now a charity partner, supporting our Storytelling Stimulus Programme!
What is the programme?
The Storytelling Stimulus Programme facilitates oracy, literacy and creative use of language for pupils in deprived and/or rurally remote areas. Designed to run over a six month period, it includes two facilitator lead workshop based days, two digital sessions, two professional performances and an 8 week remote supported arts based education module. By the end of the programme students will use the skills taught to creatively respond to a stimulus (be that a book, an artefact, a history subject…) and perform alongside our actors in a professional context.
Arts-based education teaches individuals how to express thoughts, emotions, and complex ideas in ways that spoken or written language cannot. With digital isolation increasing and against the backdrop of a rise in youth mental health issues, our program creates an ensemble space for every individual involved to feel seen, heard and valued.
Â
To learn via the arts is to learn how to communicate. How to speak and be heard.
Â
We are professional actors travelling with a professional production, but we do not teach ‘acting’: we demonstrate how using the skillset of performance will enhance daily life and/or existing academic subjects in a playful environment. The skills we can facilitate are always transferable: conflict resolution, salesmanship and presentation, teamwork, project and events management, to name a few.
Interested? What to get involved? If you have any further queries, feel free to reach out to us!
Thanks again to , , Mila and all the others, particularly our individual donors, who make this work possible.
