Biography
Vincent currently studies at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz (KUG) with Concert Pianist and Professor, Markus Schirmer. Originally from the United Kingdom, he has performed in several prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall London, and gave a solo recital at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room in November 2017. usic Junior Department (RCMJD) under Nataša Lipovšek with Scholarship, he has been successful with numerous competitions in the U.K. He received 1st prize at the Beethoven Society of Europe’s Junior National Intercollegiate Piano Competition in March 2016, and won several prizes at the Mid Somerset Festival in March 2018, including the Premiere Concerto Prize (Performance of Grieg Piano Concerto) and the Outstanding Pianist of the Year Award. He was also a finalist of the RCMJD’s Peter Morrison Concerto competition 2017 (Performance of Beethoven Piano Concerto No.5)
Vincent has also received international success. In March 2019, Vincent took part in the Aarhus International Piano Competition, where he was invited amongst 42 talented pianists from around the world to perform in the competition and concerts in Denmark via a rigorous pre-selection consisting of almost 200 applicants. Later that year, Vincent received 3rd prize at the Orbetello Junior International Piano Competition, 1st prize at the “Piano Talents” International Piano Competition 2019 in Milan and 2nd prize at the Cesar Franck International Piano Competition 2019 in Kraainem, Belgium. In September 2019, he was invited to perform at Arsonore International Music Festival Graz amongst 6 other pianists from KUG to perform the complete Chopin Nocturnes in one evening. More recently, Vincent was awarded a Grand Prix “Crown of Stars” by the Music and Stars Awards Online Competition 2020 and 1st Absolute Prize at the Franz Liszt Centre International Online Piano Competition 2021, where he attained the highest score amongst 140 applicants aged 18-32. He was also awarded 1st Prize and “Best Performance of a 20th Century Work” in the Artists Category of the Nordic International Piano Competition 2021. He has been invited to perform in numerous concert halls throughout Europe, notably in Italy, Germany, Croatia, England, Belgium, Denmark and Austria, and was selected to participate in numerous masterclasses given by world-renowned pianists, such as Joanna Macgregor, Uta Weyand, Ewa Pobłocka, Ronan O’Hora and William Fong. Now at the age of 21, Vincent looks forward to future concert opportunities, including this year’s concerto appearance with TSO under Phil Draisey (Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto no.1) in England and a solo Matinee Recital in Friedrichshafen, Germany. He will also make his debut at the Wiener Musikverein’s Gläserner Saal in April 2022, where he will perform a solo programme of works by Reynaldo Hahn, specially compiled by Vincent, alongside excerpts of literature by Marcel Proust, read aloud by German actor and Ifflandring Prize Winner, Jens Harzer.
