We honestly cannot believe it has been a year already since we lost Kim Woodburn 💔

Kim was one of those people who just stayed with you. Unfiltered, hilarious, a little bit chaotic at times but always completely herself. She gave so many of us a laugh when we needed it most and that is something really special.

From all of us at Weaste Pride, we are thinking of her today and remembering the joy she brought to so many in our community and beyond.

Gone but never forgotten our Kim 💜

🚶‍♂️ HOW TO FIND US FROM WEASTE TRAM STOP (no sat nav stress required)

Right then, you’ve hopped off at Weaste tram stop… nice one. You’re basically already halfway to a good time 🍻

👉 Step 1
Come out of the tram stop and get yourself onto Eccles New Road. If you can see cars and hear a bit of traffic, you’re doing it right.

👉 Step 2
Head down towards Weaste Lane. Nice easy stroll, no hiking boots needed. Think of it as your warm up lap before the first pint.

👉 Step 3
Turn onto Weaste Lane and keep walking. You’ll pass a few houses, maybe spot a local legend or two. Stay strong, you’re close now.

👉 Step 4
Keep going and BOOM… there we are. Weaste and Seedley Social Club in all its glory 🙌

⏱️ Total walk time
About 5 to 8 minutes depending on how excited you are

It’s great to see the “Progress Pride” flag flying alongside the Union Flag at Salford Civic Centre during Pride Month.

The Progress Pride flag builds on the traditional rainbow flag by recognising groups within the LGBTQ+ community who have often faced additional discrimination and barriers, including transgender people and LGBTQ+ people from ethnic minority backgrounds. It is a symbol of inclusion, visibility and equality.

For many people, seeing the flag displayed by their local council sends a simple but important message: you are welcome here, you belong here, and you will be treated with dignity and respect.

Pride Month is about celebrating the progress that has been made, while recognising that there is still work to do to ensure everyone can live free from prejudice and discrimination.

I’m proud that Salford continues to stand for fairness, inclusion and respect for all.
