Incredible news! We are pleased to announce that the New Adelphi Theatre has selected six recently graduating individuals/groups from our Performance directorate to become the next cohort of Supported Artists 🎉

The Performance Graduate Scholarship Programme, in collaboration with the Alumni Team, awards graduates from the University’s performance disciplines the financial support, resources, facilities and time to experiment and take risks within their creative practice. The programme is designed to provide recent Graduates with an opportunity to develop their skills and further their professional experience within a supportive framework.

The Performance Graduate Scholarships are funded through the generosity of our donors and supported by the Alumni Engagement & Development Team.

1 WEEK TO GO - Emergence, the touring postgraduate dance company of Joss Arnott Dance and University of Salford presents a new triple bill of adrenaline-fuelled dance for this year’s programme performed by a new company of extraordinary dancers all set to new, originally composed music.

Check out this BTS footage of Artistic Director Joss Arnott and Lisa Marie Robinson’s restaging of Euphoria, a work that pulses with Arnott’s signature, high-voltage movement language and driven by an electrifying soundtrack from composer James Keane, whose music propels the work with both urgency and exhilaration. Check out this BTS footage of Faye Stoeser’s Rapture, a charged new work that dives deep into the pulse of club culture. Known for infusing her choreography with this theme, Faye pushes further this time, exploring the moment when fun fractures into chaos. What happens when fun goes too far? Where does exhilaration become something darker? Yet even in the shadows, Rapture finds celebration—liberation bursting through the cracks. Drawing from Faye’s rich movement background in new way voguing, commercial, and contemporary dance, the piece weaves these vocabularies with the raw individuality of the Emergence 2026 dancers, shaping a world that feels both intensely personal and wildly collective.

Check out this BTS footage of Jason Mabana’s Our Guests, a new creation for Emergence Dance that invites audiences into a world seen through newborn eyes. This vivid work follows a community of sensual, otherworldly beings as they encounter their surroundings for the very first time. Blurring the line between the intimate and the surreal, Our Guests traces a shared journey of curiosity, connection, and an evolving communal language expressed through the body. Accompanied by original sound by Dylan Jones, whose music deepens the work’s emotional landscape and heightens its sense of discovery. Jason’s unmistakable architectural choreography intertwines with the distinct energy of the Emergence 2026 cohort, resulting in a physical landscape that feels alive, shifting, and entirely its own. 3 WEEKS TO GO - Get ready for an extraordinary night of contemporary dance. EMERGENCE 26 is set to return to the New Adelphi Theatre with their Triple Bill, highlighting three sensational performances, choreographed by Jason Mabana, Faye Stoeser and Joss Arnott & Lisa Robinson.

The first piece titled Our Guests is presented by Jason Mabana - a choreographer and contemporary lecturer based in London.

The second piece created by guest choreographer Faye Stoeser is called Rapture.

Artistic Director Joss Arnott and assistant choreographer Lisa Marie Robinson complete the programme with a restaging of Euphoria from 2025 which features Arnott’s signature, exhilarating movement language. TOMORROW - VERVE presents a breathtaking triple bill performed by 18 exceptional dancers.

Alethia Antonia is a British Caribbean, West Yorkshire-based independent choreographer, performer, teacher and researcher. This brand-new work for VERVE explores what you would ask your future self, delving into the connection between the individual with the collective in an innovative and energising approach.

Andrea Costanzo Martini is an Italian choreographer. His work focuses on extreme physicality and theatricality of the performance act and explores the power balance that is created during a show between the dancers and the spectators. Always filled with humour and supported by a wide range of skills, Martini’s work questions and plays with the expectations of the dance medium.

Oona Doherty is a groundbreaking dancer and award-winning choreographer. VERVE are excited to be part of celebrating 10 years of ‘Hope Hunt', which sees the work reimagined from a solo to a collective.

VERVE is the international touring dance company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Each year the company commissions choreographers from across the world to create artistically distinct, physically daring, and engaging dance work.
