7 Spot Pottery An artist-run ceramics studio in Manchester. We offer a range of courses for beginners and improvers.

7 Spot Pottery is an artist-led ceramic studio in Ordsall, just a 12 min walk from Cornbrook tram stop. We run handbuilding and throwing courses, and offer studio memberships for potters. We currently have 20 members from all walks of life who either work as artists or enjoy ceramics as a hobby. Membership includes storage space, all firings included, and on-site technical support. We pride oursel

ves on being an inclusive environment for people of all ability levels and experience, and welcome people who have no experience of working with clay at all, to those who have completed higher education in ceramics. We believe in the benefits of clay as a therapeutic tool for everyone, whether as a personal practice or professional endeavour.

Our students in the glaze chemistry class have been working on perfecting their glazes, achieving some gorgeous semi-matt effects using our base recipe.

Today's lesson focused on understanding glaze chemistry with Stull charts and UMF.

Now they're putting together their last batches to bring home. Well done all, it's been a pleasure hosting you!

It's Easter break therefore we have some evenings free to run our much loved and in-demand members workshops!

These workshops are FREE for our studio members, and a great way to meet each other and match faces to names (and witty WhatsApp banter).

Tuesday 7th 5-9pm:✨Lustre Night✨BYOB & glaze fired ceramics and paint with platinum or real gold lustre! Optional: getting high off lustre fumes (j/k).

Thursday 9th 5-9pm: 💮Stamps Club💮 personalise your work by making DIY bisque stamps. Still using a needle tool to initial your work? Get in losers, we're creating makers marks, patterned stamps and roulettes, you're worth it. BYOB.

Thursday 16th 5-9pm: ☕️Handles Surgery ☕️Do you suck at handles? We can't be having that or you'll give Eva a coronary. Come and learn tip top pulled and handbuilt handle techniques to up your mug game. BYOB.

Seeing as the internet's on a nostalgia trip to the 90s at the moment, here's who runs 7 Spot Pottery, teaches most of the classes, answers your emails and fires your work!

The first one is .nichols on holiday with his family in Aussois in the alps! With his favourite uncle and aunt Michele & Francois who are sadly no longer with us 💞
pots doesn't even remember where this was taken but she was obsessed with rollerskate parties, stick on nails, rara skirts and flamenco dresses. Could not be further from who she is now as she can mostly be found wrapped up in jumpers, boots and jeans 🤣

We'll see if wants to join in too!

Our Throwing Bigger workshop with Will Keating tickets are flying out the door!

We have only 4 tickets left on our second date on 6/6/26 10-4:30pm, he did such a great job of promoting it at last weekend thank you so much Will! 💞

We also can't wait to see his new workshop & gas kiln he's building in Staffordshire for a site visit one day soon. 🤞🏼

We can't wait to host our lovely ceramic pals and have them share their wonderful techniques with you this summer in Manchester's raddest pottery studio 😎

We've got quite a busy summer ourselves with Pascal exhibiting , plus a few of us are setting up a gas kiln at kiln yard next weekend. We've bought it off a lovely man in Ayrshire and had it stored for years in our cellar, so Callum has kindly let us use some space in his studio yard near Clay College. Thankyou Callum!!

Eva will be learning woodfiring with in May with , woodfiring and slip decoration fun with .lambert in late August, then MORE woodfiring with in Cornwall!

We're delighted to be hosting studio potter and friend of 7 Spot in this 1 day intensive throwing workshop.

Level up your throwing in this workshop, with live demonstrations and 1-2-1 troubleshooting, to help you throw more clay, more efficiently.

Only a couple of spaces left as our members have gobbled many spaces up already. Suitable for intermediate potters who can work with upwards of 1kg of clay.

We'll be inviting Will back in the summer if you miss this session so keep an eye out. We can't wait! 🏺

Potter of the week alert! I've just spotted Millie's gorgeous jars on the ware shelves 😍

My superstar potter from the last 12 week throwing course! These glaze combos are stunning! I think I can see some Chocolate Orange glaze layered over blue underglaze.
