Introducing

Nicola Hood

"I create abstract screen prints made up of many layers exploring different colour palettes, often starting from a basic design and then layering with hand drawn patterns, mark making and found imagery. I have no fixed starting point and work intuitively. No print is the same, they are all one offs".

INTRODUCING

Jane McKeating

Jane uses waterless lithography, and a bit of screen printing to make playful figurative images on all kinds of paper and cloth. She can be found in Hotbed press making masses of prints which often end up cut up into tiny fragments.

INTRODUCING

Julia Swarbie

'I am a visual artist who enjoys all areas of printmaking but am especially attracted to etching and lithography because I love the way it interprets the drawn mark. My particular challenge has been to create a real relationship between my painting and my printmaking while improving my understanding of both processes. My pictures are derived from a combination of landscape and found objects, usually toys, overlaid with elements from the imagination. Stories are suggested but the narrative remains incomplete'

INTRODUCING:

Glenda Cox

I use a painterly approach to printmaking, working with colour and gestural marks.
I have an emotional response to landscape which for me is a threatening environment: ancient, wild and dangerous.
I work in monoprint which allows me to layer and adapt the composition as I work.
I was trained as a textile artist, completing a B.A. Hons. In Embroidery at M.M.U. in 2011. Here the emphasis was on mark-making using dye and stitch. These techniques are transferable into print and the dynamic evocation of landscape.
I have recently finished the Complete Printmaker course at Hotbed Press.

INTRODUCING

Eileen Tunbridge

"I have mainly worked in clay and metal, making three-dimensional forms, so working in print has been a challenge. I am still experimenting with different techniques, working mainly from photographs I have taken. I am drawn to the way light and shade falls through trees and over landscapes".
