Last week on 10th October 2023 it was World Mental Health Day. At this time of year especially, it’s so important to remember that not every battle is visible and you truly never know what somebody might be going through.
Rachel, one of Spotlight’s leaders wrote this poem as a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay, but there is ALWAYS hope for a better day. She says, “This poem was inspired by the 5,4,3,2,1 grounding technique and the idea that (for me, and friends that have also been advised to use this method) these techniques don’t always feel like they are working in the moment but you have to keep trying because these things take time and you just have to trust that in the end, things can get better.”
