I'm a passionate knitter with a love of gnomes, which I affectionately call Gonks! I’ve always knit on & off, but 9 years ago I inadvertently threw myself into knitting as a distraction whilst dealing with the loss of my fabulous Dad. In that time I’ve progressed from a novice to where I am now, I'd like to think a somewhat advanced knitter! I’ve discovered some great pattern designers & incredibl
e yarn dyers along the way. I like to up my game with each pattern I try, which is how I stumbled upon Sarah Schira at Imagined Landscapes and her utterly magic gnome patterns! My favourite being “Never Not Gnoming” 🍄
Over the last 12 months I have lost count of how many Gonks I’ve knit, some for keeps (ok, a lot for keeps!), some for gifts - all different in their unique way. I’ve been amazed at how much attention they get & how many people ask if I could make them one. I was fed up of replying with ‘I’m afraid I don’t make these to sell’. Well I’ve finally taken the plunge & set up an Etsy page so please go take a look. I’ve called myself “YARN” as I’m not just a knitter. In recent years I’ve taught myself to crochet. So you never know, some of that may appear on here too but predominantly I will be knitting Gonks… it’s what makes me happy, they make me happy bringing each one to life. All my Gonks are one of a kind. Either unique to the season or made with bespoke hand dyed yarn from my favourite dyers.
