Today marks ten years since the metal community lost Tom Searle of Architects. 🖤
A guitarist. A songwriter. A brother. And one of the people responsible for helping shape a sound that would influence an entire generation of heavy music.
Tom died on 20 August 2016, aged just 28, following a battle with cancer.
A decade later, his impact hasn’t faded.
His riffs are still played on stages around the world. His songs are still screamed back by thousands of voices. Musicians continue to be influenced by the work he left behind, while new fans discover Architects records that carry his unmistakable fingerprints.
That is the incredible thing about music.
The person may leave us, but what they created keeps travelling.
Through headphones. Through tiny venues. Through festival fields. Through bands picking up guitars because somebody else’s music made them want to create something of their own.
Ten years without Tom Searle.
Ten years of his music continuing to make noise. 🤍

Memento mori.
Memento vivere.
From all of us at C2, rest easy, Tom. 🖤
