Workshop announcement! 📣

We’re joined by Pebl, one of our key partners, to explore the depths of our Seaweed farm in an interactive workshop for adults on Thursday 10th September.

“Who Lives Here? Life and Survival on a Seaweed Farm” will invite the audience to take their place in the food web…

You'll each become a seaweed farm resident (a lobster, a hermit crab, a porpoise, a starfish) and work out where you live, what you eat, and who's hunting you! 🦞

Together we bring a whole farm to life, then throw the system into change… From marine heatwaves to winter storms – who moves? Who thrives? Who vanishes? 🌊

Cyhoeddiad gweithdy! 📣

Mae Pebl, un o'n partneriaid allweddol, yn ymuno â ni i archwilio dyfnderoedd ein fferm wymon mewn gweithdy rhyngweithiol i oedolion ddydd Iau 10 Medi.

Bydd "Pwy sy'n byw yma? Bywyd a Goroesi ar Fferm Wymon" yn gwahodd y gynulleidfa i gymryd eu lle yn y we fwyd...

Bydd pob un ohonoch yn dod yn breswylydd fferm wymon (cimwch, cranc meudwy, llamhidydd, seren fôr) ac yn gweithio allan ble rydych chi'n byw, beth rydych chi'n ei fwyta, a phwy sy'n eich hela chi! 🦞

Gyda'n gilydd, daw’r fferm gyfan yn fyw, wedyn byddwn ni’n creu newid yn fwriadol... O donnau gwres morol i stormydd y gaeaf – pwy sy'n symud? Pwy sy'n ffynnu? Pwy sy'n diflannu? 🌊

Seaweed is a hidden hero for both people and nature, and could help address the urgent climate crisis we are facing.

Wales Festival of Seaweed is about sharing knowledge about seaweed, building greater awareness, and making it more visible to a wider audience. The ripples of this could be huge!

We’d like to give a shout out to our funders and partners WWF UK, Câr-Y-Môr, The Scottish Association for Marine Science and PEBL, and to players of the The National Lottery, without whom the festival wouldn’t be possible.

We’re part of the National Lottery’s ‘Unlocking the Power of Seaweed’ project, a 3-year project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK.

The funding will allow WWF-UK and partners to work with coastal communities in Pembrokeshire to develop a model of community-led regenerative seaweed farming, and support the scale-up of a sustainable, responsible UK-wide industry that benefits local communities, nature and climate.

You can hear from some of these partners at the festival in September. Get your tickets now!

Mae gwymon yn arwr cudd i bobl a natur fel ei gilydd, a gallai helpu i fynd i’r afael â’r argyfwng hinsawdd brys sy’n ein hwynebu.

Gŵyl Gwymon Cymru yw’r cyfle i rannu gwybodaeth am wymon, codi ymwybyddiaeth ohono, a’i wneud yn fwy gweladwy i gynulleidfa ehangach. Gallai effaith hynny fod yn enfawr!

Hoffem ddiolch yn arbennig i’n cyllidwyr a’n partneriaid WWF-UK, Câr-y-Môr, SAMS a PEBL, ac i chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol. Ni fyddai’r ŵyl yn bosibl hebddynt.

Rydym yn rhan o brosiect ‘Datgloi Pŵer Gwymon’ y Loteri Genedlaethol, sef prosiect tair blynedd a ariennir gan Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol, y cyllidwr cymunedol mwyaf yn y DU.

Bydd y cyllid yn galluogi WWF-UK a’i bartneriaid i weithio gyda chymunedau arfordirol yn Sir Benfro i ddatblygu model o ffermio cefnforol adfywiol dan arweiniad y gymuned, a chefnogi ehangu diwydiant cynaliadwy a chyfrifol ledled y DU sy’n dod â budd i gymunedau lleol, natur a’r hinsawdd.

Gallwch glywed gan rai o’r partneriaid hyn yn yr ŵyl ym mis Medi. Mynnwch eich tocynnau nawr!

We are excited to have Kirsti from Gwymona join us for the festival this year.

She'll be running an interactive and sensory workshop called:

"Embedding the language, history and culture of Wales in our Seaweed work".

Through handling and identifying local seaweed species, we’ll discover how Welsh language, culture and historic uses can strengthen public connection, and support seaweed aquaculture in Wales.

Are you joining us? Get your tickets now, at
www.festivalofseaweed.wales/tickets

Many more activities will be announced soon!

Rydym yn gyffrous i gael Kirsti o Gwymona yn ymuno â ni ar gyfer yr ŵyl eleni.

Bydd hi'n cynnal gweithdy rhyngweithiol a synhwyraidd ddydd Gwener 11 Medi o'r enw: "Ymgorffori iaith, hanes a diwylliant Cymru yn ein Gwaith Gwymon".

Trwy drin ac adnabod rhywogaethau gwymon lleol, byddwn yn darganfod sut y gall iaith, diwylliant a defnyddiau hanesyddol Cymru gryfhau cysylltiad â'r cyhoedd, a chefnogi dyframaethu gwymon yng Nghymru.

Hoffwch chi ymuno â ni? Archebwch eich tocynnau yma:
