4th place for us at the West of England Bandsmen's Festival yesterday. Obviously not the result we would have wanted, but we received some really positive adjudicator’s remarks, and only one point behind 3rd place! We started our day bright and early with the march down, where we played Slaidburn in honour of late member Clare Ridehalgh who is still very much missed in the band, and finished the day (much) later with several of our members camping in the contest field! Congratulations to all of the prize winners, and thank you to the WEBF committee for their hard work in organising the day. A week off for us now, before we are back to it ahead of our summer season!

Well, that’s the final rehearsal done and dusted. Music is on card, shoes are polished, cars are packed with suncream and wellies…….(can’t predict the Cornish weather), and Team MCB are ready and raring to go for the historic 100th West of England Bandsman’s Festival tomorrow. It should be a great day of Cornish banding. See you all at the march down! 🎶
