Quorum Singers of St. Albans Quorum Singers of St. Albans is a mixed voice choir, entertaining audiences in the St Albans area &

Under the Musical Directorship of Marianna Freeman, we are a self-financed, friendly four-part (SATB) choir of around 40 - 45 singers, performing a wide range of Sacred and Secular music both accompanied and unaccompanied. Marianna has developed the repertoire of the choir and has been instrumental in introducing works by local and contemporary composers. The choir has raised many thousands of pou

nds for local and national charities and is itself a registered charity. Over the years we have been privileged to collaborate with other choirs and musicians to share in music making. Recently we have joined with other choirs from across Great Britain in choir festivals at the Tower of London and in Milton Keynes. Quorum’s joyful singing continues to delight audiences with varied concert programmes to suit all tastes, whilst raising money for worthy causes.

The ☀️ came out on Saturday as we enjoyed the lovely large space, high roof and acoustics at Hatfield Road Methodist Church, St Albans for a choral workshop led by Amy Bebbington .
🎶 Appoximately 40 of us including Quorum members past and present and a few friends spent the morning practising techniques to improve our singing and our confidence and learning a couple of pieces
🕺From warm ups to African harmonies and even some choreography to push us out of our comfort zone, we relished the opportunity to learn and spend time with each other
🥙 Singing was followed by a bring and share lunch. We always say we “buffet” very well at Quorum! Part choir, part foodie society 😆
🕰️ If you’d like to hear us put all this into practice, do come along to our Spring Concert, Saturday 21st March at 7.30pm at Aldenham Church (poster in stories and in a previous post)
🙏🏼 We are very grateful to Amy for giving us her time and considerable energy, to our musical Director Marianna Freeman and the committee for all the organisation

🎅🏽 The tree decorating committee has been hard at work this morning creating the Quorum tree for the St Saviour’s Christmas tree festival!
📅 There’s a programme of events including food stalls, music and a bar
https://www.stsavioursstalbans.com/s-projects-side-by-side-1
😊 There are many trees, all beautifully decorated by community groups, schools and other local organisations
🎄 The theme is “Past, present and yet to come” and you can see our silver roses, bow ties and programmes from concerts past, alongside our new banner and logo with some stunning homemade decorations in our new turquoise. As for the future, we hope that many will be inspired to come to our future concerts!
🎶 We are thrilled that our tree is adjacent to Herts Young Homeless’ charity tree and hope that lots of donations are made to this brilliant cause
👼 Look out for our musical angel
✅ Press the sound buttons around the trunk for a musical surprise!
🎄The festival is open 16th - 22nd December. Do pay a visit!

🎶 Jingle Bells was a real crowd pleaser!
🐸 Our medley of songs from A Muppet Christmas Carol went down brilliantly too
🧑‍🎄 There was a good turnout of people enjoying the light trail, food and drink
😊 Whilst the chill was toe-numbing, singing for the crowds and raising money for the Hosice of St Francis was heartwarming
❤️Wishing all of our supporters a healthy and happy Christmas and New Year
📅 See you in 2026!!!

🎄 🎄 We had a great time singing for a wonderful audience at St Stephen's Church yesterday. Christmas music was sung and shared, cake was eaten, Christmas cheer was spread and money was raised for charity. Thank you to all who came out, on a rather soggy December afternoon, to support us. 🌲🌲

We were thinking of choir members who were not able to join us. We missed you and hope that those of you who are unwell are soon feeling better. xXx
