Àwọn Ọmọde ìgbàlódé | City Girls

This is one of our ‘favouritestest’ pieces in The Mores Village gallery in our store - now on its way out to a very special home, gallery, workplace, room… we always hazard guesses where they would go and always - all the time without fail end up being VERY wrong!!!

We carefully and specially curate our one of one art pieces (this is now sold out - there’s a couple other ones on the website) and while we wish we could hold on to every single one, we’d like for you to have it more!!!

It’s a very special piece and we promise it’s going to be beyond gorgeous wherever you end up putting it up in x

I came across this video of and this resonated so deeply with me.

As an entrepreneur running businesses across continents, travel freedom and fluidity are some of the biggest barriers to growth or even sustainability - the expense, rigorous process, sometimes denials, other times restrictions - even with an extensive travel history. Even with that.

I have had a factory and store in Lagos for almost 10 years, run stores in Washington DC, Kenya & Morocco. Held exhibitions in Paris, Torino, New York, Lagos, Vegas etc. residencies in Washington DC & London, travelled to 19 African countries and 25 more across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and The Americas. Had a flagship store on Bond Street and a second one in Hertfordshire, yet, YET, these do not account for travel trust or ease of access.

Especially in and across Africa. I would even say passport discrimination is unbelievably more prevalent across Africa as rigorous as it is in the West. More so for first time or less travelled African entrepreneurs.

There’s a lot been done, said and put in but a lot more to be done. Glad these conversations are being had and on global stages and platforms too.

In those days, the buildings were made of lime mortar, earth and coral stone. Excavations have revealed luxury imports like Venetian glass, Indian beads, flushing toilets and water systems buried beneath what used to be one of ten most vibrant trade centres in the world

Back in our ‘Sunday Best’ 💕

How often do you wear your occasional dresses?

I had to purchase one of these - ‘The Luxe Bead Boubou’ for myself from which looks absolutely stunning modelled here by the gorgeous 💕

When I think of the number of hours, days, sometimes weeks put into beading, patterning, stitching, hand sewing a piece by artisans spear headed by designers across different parts of Africa and shipped to us (this was made by a community of artisans in West Africa) I can’t help but proudly wear these pieces again and again!

The AMVCA ‘26 was a fireball 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Everyone ‘came correct’ but we have picked out our top 10 looks and will shortly but can we hold our breath for a minute for this Queen 👸🏾 the artistic construction of this gorgeous edifice of a dress & of course the outstanding designer? 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

This is absolutely breathtaking and we had so much fun poring over the looks and picking out our top 10!! Lordy, these were so delicious!!

We are so proud of the African film, fashion & art scene and how the artists, designers, creatives etc. keep pushing the ball!!! Someone said the AMVCA is the African Met Gala but we think even that is reductive of the glory of the entirety of the event and the creativity it brings.

The AMVCAs are not a remake of anything else in the world, the artists are setting their own standards and the style is ina class of its own!

Trust us, you would looooveee our top 10 looks!!!
