🎄🌈 One of the loveliest St Albans traditions is back.

St Albans Postboxes first brought to life by Clare and Candy, are now dotted around the city again thanks to a them and a brilliant group of local makers.

Every piece is handmade with care and helps raise funds for local charities. This year the St Albans Postboxes is supporting two amazing causes:

Comfort Cases UK, who provide essential items and comfort packs for children entering care, and Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline, offering confidential support for anyone affected by domestic abuse across Hertfordshire.

Sanctuary Seekers Creative Workshop at + Gallery

This afternoon, I facilitated a gentle creative workshop for the Sanctuary Seekers group at St Albans Museum & Gallery 🎨

Together, families and individuals explored colour, pattern, and storytelling through coaster designs, with each person creating something personal and meaningful. There were reflections of of home, landscapes, cultural traditions and recent experiences.

For some of the participants it was their first time experiencing art making. The session was a reminder of how reflection and meaningful connection to self and others can emerge in safe, creative and supportive spaces.

Thanks to Nor, Tabby and Anne from Communities 1st for supporting the workshop.

🌈A hugewell done to and the team for organising yet another spectacular Festival of Lights event! ✨ loved celebrating and hosting the Rangoli-inspired arts and crafts activity this year!

It was wonderful to see so many families getting creative, to meet members of the force and to proudly display the stunning Rangoli creations created from an earlier workshop held for Y1 and Y2 children from John Hampden School.

Such a joyful, colourful, and community-filled day celebrating light, art, and togetherness!

‘Weave Your Stories’ a family workshop at

Take part in a creative family workshop with Community Artist .cox inspired by artist Ghafar Tajmohammad‘stm’s work ‘If You Throw a Stone in the Crowd Someone’s Going to Get Hurt’ - a powerful exhibition now showing at .

‘Weave Your Stories’ builds on the spirit of artist Ghafar Tajmohammad‘s ‘Love Letters’ workshop which was co-led with It invites participants to reflect upon Ghafar’s work and explore themes of home, memory, displacement, and resilience through colour, pattern, and texture through kilims (Afghan rugs).

Together, we’ll create symbolic ‘memory textiles’ and ‘shape tapestries’ woven artworks that reflect your own stories, identity, and sense of place.

Perfect for children and families, this hands-on session encourages creativity, connection, and storytelling through art, opening spaces for meaningful conversations and inspiring community participation.

Join Community Artist .cox at this half term for the ‘My Feelings Landscape: Exploring Colour, Shape & Emotions’ workshop.

Children and families are invited to discover how colour, shape, line and texture can express feelings, memories and experiences - inspired by iconic artists in the ‘Into Abstraction Modern British Art and the Landscape’ exhibition including , Henry Moore, and L.S. Lowry.

Through playful collage, layering and expressive mark-making, participants will explore their inner and outer worlds and translate them into abstract form as part of their own unique ‘Feelings Landscape’.

This creative drop-in activity offers a playful and meaningful experience of collage and abstract art, exploring how artists use visual language to reflect the world around and inside them.

Families will also be invited to add to our ‘Community Feelings Landscape’ a collaborative artwork from all the participants reflecting and sharing their creative expression together.

No experience needed, just curiosity!
