Yesterday the Band performed brilliantly at 2 performances of Wallace & Gromit - A Grand Day Out!

Thank you so much to everyone that came to see it. It was such pleasure to see all families and especially the children having such a great time 👌

Keep an eye out on our socials for our next performance at Christmas with The Snowman.

In the mean time, the band are busy creating fundraising plans to help us raise our target to get to the National Finals. We have everything in mind from sponsored walks, runs, a quiz night and many more!

‼️ New Signing ‼️

Uppermill Band would like to say a fond goodbye to Andrew Hudson, who has decided to take a step back from banding for the time being. Andrew has been an incredibly committed member of the band—not only in performance, but also through the huge amount of behind-the-scenes support he’s given, especially helping with transporting equipment to events. We wish Andrew all the very best and hope to see him back playing again very soon.

At the same time, we are absolutely delighted to welcome back Chris Brown on Eb Bass.
Remarkably, it’s been 45 years since Chris first began his journey with Uppermill, back when Ted Tooley was conducting the band. Chris is a fantastic player, and we’re excited to have him with us as we prepare for upcoming events—and, of course, our qualification for the National Finals in September.

Uppermill Band is to treat people to A Grand Day Out at its latest concert.

And Wallace and Gromit will again be the inspiration.

Following last summer’s success of The Wrong Trousers Live, which saw sold out performances and even a waiting list for tickets, it is returning with another much-loved classic.

We’re delighted to announce the signing of Matthew Shaw to Uppermill Band on Euphonium.

Matthew joins us having previously played Solo Euphonium with Staines Band and Sherborne Band, and before moving away to complete his studies, our close neighbours Milnrow Band. He’s a tremendous player who brings a wealth of experience to our already fabulous Euphonium and Baritone section.

“It was great to chat with Matthew and hear about his previous playing experience, and after having him down to a rehearsal I was even more delighted when he asked to join. Matthew has an amazing sound and a real punch of power to bring to the section. A great signing for Uppermill Band.”
